eng
Bought this just over a week ago and finished it tonite (will add 2 GBU's at some point and a small nameplate to the base) thus qualifying as my quickest build in a long time. Beautiful kit straight out of the box, better than the Dragon offering by miles, decals and all, only thing I missed til too late was that the intake section at the base of the fin is too long i.e for the AV-8B and should really have been cut back and re-shaped. Also in true Harrier fashion the gear was bloody fiddly, I managed to snap one of the outrigger fwd braces (after removal from the sprue and cleaning up!!) but repaired it successfully, the nose leg required shortened from the top slightly as the aircraft sat too nose high and I had to sand some flats on the nose and main gear to get (almost!) 5 points of contact (twin mainwheels remember!!). Base is simply a scrap of plasticard, scored, painted and weathered, with a piece of stretched sprue to make an edge light and some thick sandy coloured paint stippled on for texture and to break up the base. Oh and it's 1/144!! Just a tad wider, and same length as my.................................mobile phone!! All comments good and bad welcome, thanks. Alan P
Nice result for such a small scale, looks bigger, especially with all those stencils! Very nicely done - just the one bad comment really - try to make a less gay aeroplane next time! : Al
