Su-30MKI

Seen some great looking Indian Air Force Su-30MKI's in a magazine I bought recently and was looking at the possibility of building one in 1/48. I'd thought about getting a hold of an Academy Su-27UB kit but was wondering if anyone knows of a conversion set for the older model or the updated one's with the canard foreplanes? I've searched Hannants etc with no joy.

IIRC there was a company called SOL form South Korea that used to have a conversion for Academy's kit, but I think it's out of production. SOL may be out of business, too.

You will probably have to wait until Trumpeter or Hobby Boss make one. I notice the MKK is out there although that wont help you with a MKI. However it looks like Irkut are getting more successful with other sales to Algeria, Malaysia and Venezuela and that coupled with the planes recent high profile, may eventually get us models in 72 and 48. There was a 72 conversion of the MKI at last years nationals. Or was it this years Southern Expo?

I wouldn't be surprised if Wolfpack produced a set for the Academy UB kit. It's been on the cards for a while.
