avro683
I picked one of these up at the Brampton show yesterday along with three british tagets to blow up with it! I know that some Dragon kits have been accused of being over engineered but this is a beauty. Instrument decals have been pre-set into the clear plastic parts and the quality of the moulding is incredible. Anyone built one? Tony
AnonymousDFB1
Not built or seen one Tony but it has the reputation of being the best. Edited September 29, 2008 by Mish
Nev
And the Tamiya 88 is something of a classic - have fond memories of building that one.
daz greenwood
It is a superb kit. I have both releases, which I intend to build once I have my compressor. I also have a base for it and the figures. But it won't be built for a while yet. Cheers Daz
Tigerausfb
Hi Tony, IMHO it's one of the best kits DML have ever done. However, as with all kits there are a few bits you can tweak up and some bits they missed. Lion Roar and Voyager both do fantastic photo-etched sets if you want to up the detail. On the main cruciform member there are four towing hooks, these are missing the locks. They've also missed some sort of actuating rod?? that runs along the inside of the gun cradle on the LHS as you are looking from the rear of the gun. There are a few photos showing this in Mullers Schwere Flak for example, as well as pics freely available on the net. To add this part would mean rebuilding the rearmost four supports on the inside of the cradle, drilling a hole in the corner of each one, feeding a length of small diameter plastic rod through and adding a bolt head on the end of the rod. There are also a few bolts to add, for example the ones retaining the loading tray. If you want pics I have hundreds as well as the US Technical Manual on the '88', TM E9-369A. avro683
Got to get it too.Is it the flak 36, or the 37??? Hi Antoine. The box states 37 but there are parts and details on the instructions to enable either an 18, 36 or 37, depending on your wants, to be built. Whatever way you go. it really is one of the best kits I have ever seen. Tony Edited September 30, 2008 by avro683

Stebos
I might put this back on my 'wants list' then, I'd taken it off as it seemed quite expensive for what you got. Seems I was wrong!

There are some 550 plus plastic parts in the box, a choice of metal barrels and shells and several sheets of etch...... should keep me out of trouble for a while! daz greenwood
So as promised are piccies of the kits. First up is the FlaK 36 w/crew.
daz greenwood
And the FlaK 37. This one shares common sprues with the earlier release, but includes two new gunshields as it's a 3-in-1 kit, which means I'll have to buy another two to do the other versions. Thanx for looking.
