Dads203
That seat looks reet gradely! Yer pilot doesn't look bad either - how did you do his visor so lully & shiny & smooth? The seat is a little way from being finished mate, as with most models I make !! Pilots visor was simply painted tamiya black, once dry was given 2 coats of tamiya clear with a good quality brush, the X-22 clear was thinned a little with tamiya's own thinners. The figures look better in the flesh than in my very poor pictures. He's not too bad considering that he fell into a bottle of Tamiya olive drab paint just after I painted him the first time :shithappens:

Wolf
For the F-16 D Block 50 or 52 plus (Advanced) the seats are not "green cushioned", they are this model of Aces II (Note the downed pitot tubes also) : And the digital recording unit is just in the front seat. Best regards Edited December 9, 2008 by Wolf
Dads203
Cheers Wolf, The pitot probe is now flush against the head box ? Looks like a repaint for the seat then, shame mine was starting to come together. Oh well Do you know what colour the seat covers are. They look like black from your photo? Some nice pictures of the Greek Vipers. Dads203
Had this urge to polish my canopy tonight ! Removed the seam thats standard issue with most modern blown canopies and polished it out with Micromesh and Tamiya polishing compound. Started the seat repaint, just painted the cushions a dark grey followed by a wash of black oils, needs some highlights adding but starting to look right. Will drybrush the whole seat in a light grey just to clean up the look and blend everything together. Removed the box on the second seat as per Wolf's reference phots. Now working on the really nice intake, which isn't a nightmare to fill and sand Cheers Dan
Mike
I preferred it green! Nice job on the canopy... you missed a bit though Is that your Jammydog micro masking tape? I used mine for the first time the other day, and I'm liking it

I used mine for the first time the other day, and I'm liking it I did too mate, but its not yet finished, just waiting for the oil to dry a bit first before I start to add more shades. Yeah the tape is the Dogs, super bit of kit, glad I listened to you at Telford about it.....
Alan P
Nice work Dan! There looks like a nasty "lip" on the canopy/fuselage line along the base of the canopy? or is it just me?
Dads203
Nice work Dan! There looks like a nasty "lip" on the canopy/fuselage line along the base of the canopy? or is it just me? Cheers PHaTNesS, Your right about the lip, the CMK resin nose section has pulled the the pit sides inward a touch. some gentle fettling with a large hammer will knock it back into shape. Nahhh only joking. It should sit properly once glued matey just needs the canopy pulling in. R's Dan P.S. No Fettling Hammers were harmed in the making of this Viper (Edit:) YET !!
