Seafire 47 cockpit colour?

The Airfix instructions have it overall black, but there are definitely online builds with it in green (with black instrument panels and "gubbins" around the place). I can't find any clear answer in my references - the 45 seems to have been green, nothing on the 46 or 47... Does anyone have a definitive answer?

bestest,

M.

The Seafire 17 at the FAA Museum is green below the door and black above. I painted mine black as the advent of the Seafire 47 seems to coincide with introducing black cockpits. For some reason the RAF continued with green on the Spitfires.

The Pilot's Notes show it as black, and the handgrip is a "0" shape, rather than the usual "O." We suspect it was to stop the pilot whacking the armament panel, on the port wall. Hendon, and Duxford's Spitfire 24s have the same column.
