hatchet
More work done Fuselage put together Rear That's not where the cam said it was focusing! Radome. I've since removed the probe, before I broke it off A bit hard to see, but I've fixed the fin that came into contact with the gunpack All for now. Coming up is week three in a row of working two jobs. Good thing it's vacation time after that! But, don't expect much in the way of updates for the next week. -unless my knee craps out on me again

alrite
Nice progress, it really does have a HUGE engine for the size of the plane lol.
hatchet
Well, my knee did crap out on me again, so here's a bit more I decided that, since I am going to be loosing much of the surface detail in sanding anyway, I might as well rescribe the damn thing. The tail with the sprue attached is from the AJ/SF/Sk kit A bit difficult to actually see anything So we'll try some of mr. Florys wonder-gunk Only the rest of the plane to go then Eventually, these two pieces of 2mm plasticard will become the extra elevon-actuators the JA have All for now
alrite
nice job, I'm glad the kit persuaded you to rescribe it, look soo good in the end.
damian
Wow never knew you were into S&M Good luck on the rest of the kit and well done so far!! D
hatchet
Well, I'm now officially on a 4 week vacation So, let's get something done If you look at this picture, it shows that the Heller gunpack leaves something to be desired So we take an Airfix Slammer that has become surplus to requirements... ...and our razor-saw, and end up with this Extend the intake at the front end Sand it to shape Put what's left of the Slammer on there and get this It isn't done yet, but so far it has been somewhat easier than I thought it would be. It won't be perfect, but it'll be a damn sight better than the Heller effort! More to come
damian
Martin if your IDF AH-64 was anything to go by your skills are improving rapidly!! Keep up the good work mate!!! D

general melchett
Martin, remember that the JA has a top and midline fairing on the AB shroud , like this, notice you can see exhaust petals through reverser gap !!Smaller gap due to difference in size of RM8B to the A Obviously an AJ but the fairing is the same ( looks lower on JA but it is the same) !! Nice job so far !! Andy
hatchet
Thanks Andy. I was going to ignore the petals-whatever on the shroud and that's the first time I've noticed the ab-petals I'll just leave it as it is at the moment, I want to finish it eventually When I get around to the AJ, I might do a bit more work on the shroud. hatchet
hey there Any more progress? Not really I've been doing a bit of detailing/correction on the gunpack, but that's all. I haven't felt like building lately, but I'll update when there's something to show

hatchet
Seeing as I'm building a Tornado for the Tornado GB and a Starfighter for the Naval Forces GB, I've been doing some small stuff on this No pictures to show, but I've done som spot-filling here and there. I have also decided that it won't be a JA after all, but rather an SH. I'll hang a pair of Rbs 15s, a long-range camera and an Rb 24J on it. This, of course, means that it is going to be in splinter-camo. I'll still make a JA too, I've gotten another kit for that. The Rbs 15s will come from an Italeri Gripen and the long-range camera is a resin part from Maestro Models. I'll figure an Rb 24J from somewhere The tips about doing a JA that have been posted here will be put to good use when I start the next one
Antoine
Spän stand for recce, right? Thanks for the maestro model linky anyway, there's some really cool stuff there for recce Draken and Viggen. Antoine
Also, I got the book, Martin! Should be very useful modelling wise. Sad it lacks some 1/72 scale drawings. (Lack some piccies of Swedish female ground crew, too...)
