simmo
Hi Not been on for a while. Here is my latest effort Dragons 1/35 Panther A. It is only my third AFV and seventh model, after returning to the hobby 5 years ago. Built straight from the box. The zimmerit was applied using fingers milliput and a small flathead screw driver. It is a bit thick in places The basic pattern is there but I know it is not quite correct however not bad for a first attempt. The painting was done starting with panzer grey undercoat , then salt chipping techniques applied and then dunkelgelb sprayed over the panzer grey All colours were from lifecolour. The winter wash is a white pastel stick rubbed on sandpaper mixed with water and brush painted on. I had run out of white paint. Various washes and pigments to finish off with Overall my best effort yet only problem I had was not putting F*****g tracks on first instead I put them on last not a good plan Please feel free to comment all are welocome Martin Edited August 3, 2008 by simmo
AnonymousDFB1
That's one hard worked tank, nicely done.
Antoine
Nice build! I love the panther. The tracks looks good anyway. Check the jagdtiger built (On my signature), perhaps it will sort out the track building problem. As the tracks are about the same size/length, I hope so. darson
Martin the Zimm looks spot on as does the white wash, I like the way it's not uniformly the same white across the entire vehicle. The only piece of constructive feedback I have if you don't mind is the fact that the tracks show no wear or shiny spots where they have come into contact with the road. To simulate this involves is nothing more than scraping an HB or 2B pencil onto some paper, then rubbing your index finger into the scrapings and brushing your finger up and down the part of the bottoms of the track where it would come into contact with the road. Cheers Edited August 4, 2008 by darson

Stormbringer
Your Panther looks very nice indeed. I have one little tip for you. The edges of the inner roadwheels where they contact the guide horns should also be bare metal. HTH Pete

Buzby061
Good looking cat Martin. I've finally plucked up the courage to get the Milliput out & have made a start on mine. Just finished the turret, doing it a section at a time so it may take a while. It looks a bit thick so I might have to borrow the wife's rolling pin to thin the next lot out! Started on the Italeri Spitfire IX as a spot of light relief. Pete
