AnonymousAA72
Another failure on my part, to meet deadlines in a Group Build!!! Anyway made some progress on my GR1. She'll be finished as XX725 of 54 Sqn in her original form, as delivered to the RAF, with a pointy nose - i.e. before the LRMTS chisel nose was added... I've used the NeoMega cockpit (though will use a Paragon seat), Paragon Slats & Flaps - and will add ALL of Neil's resin parts - including the pylons which Neil kindly sent me ...ages ago!! Thanks Neil!! Also added a turned alu pitot probe (from Andy's Workshop- they are fantastic!! Andys Workshop )AND of course mike's excellent resin intakes. The main undercarriage bays have been scratch built - and are meant as a "representation" of the real thing (basically 'cos I'm not very good at interpreting the real thing and converting it into model form!!). Compromise or Get out? You decide!! I'm also building a T2 - but managed to bugger up the leading edge slats - so am awaiting replacement parts....I'll post some pic's later Edited August 1, 2008 by Bill Clark
rdxtnt
Lots of hard work been going on there Bill. Wish I'd been brave enough to do the open bays on mine. Looking forward to seeing your progress on this one. Keep it up! Gary

AnonymousAA72
D'you know, I thought I had more photo's posted on here...(maybe they're in the Group Build Section) Anyway, inspired by Dean's superb Jagular, I thought I had better get my finger out..... As you can see the last post here was as far back as August 2008!!! This is most definitelly a candidate for KUTA2!! So far then - since my last post here I've actually managed to slap some paint on - and start the decals.... I used Paragon's superb slats and flaps set. this also has the wing fence which replaces the kits overwing 'winder pylon Yellow Zinc Chromate primer added - this was from the Tamiya Acrylic range Jumping a head a bit..the canopy framing at the front was a bit suspect! So I replaced it with plastic card And some paint and masking..... Edited January 10, 2010 by Bill Clark
AnonymousAA72
...and a few more bringing us up to date - well up to last night when I started doing some more on it - the first in a year!!! Since this hoto - I've opened up the nose door - apparently if the main doors open then so do the nose doors... The kits undercarriage units with a few bits of wire added on for brake pipes etc.,

AnonymousAA72
Wow- real labour of love!I like. Thanks Mental...Just looked at those pic's and they're dated 13.08.2008!!! The next batch I took were a bit more recent...24/11/09!! Heres how she was up until yesterday!! I had thought about re-starting '725 then, BUT in the year and a bit that I had had her "in the works" I had managed to lose the Paragon bulged wheels and pylons that Neil had given me some years ago!! I had these safely tucked away as well - they'll turn up one day!!! So, I bought another set of wheels - thanks to Graham at Relish Models!!! AnonymousAA72
Right...so bang up to date..The wheels arrived last week - in between the blizzards - so well done Postie!! I therefore managed to get some more work done on her.. 1st of all The Seat was added - this is from NeoMega seat as is the cockpit And so were the wheels.... The doors were carefully removed from the fuselage earlier and are seen here being detailled. The IFR probe's nozzle is another of Andy's fabulous creations! Inner Pylons...Top (in Signal Red) is from Neil at Paragon. This will go on my T2 (pic's will follow on here soon) Second is the first stage of me scratchbuilding a pair. I need to add the breech parts. At he bottom is Airfix's - with Multiple Bomb rack - which is too small Next stage will be to finish off the pylons and doors and get them painted, decalled/detailled and added. Still have a few decals to put on....detail the canopy, add dome antennae and stuff.,, Thanks for looking
