Today, I was mostly being chased down the runway by a helicopter

With an anemometer attached to the car we can drive at a given windspeed, and the helicopter formats on the car while pointing in various directions, to test handling with various wind strengths from various directions.

Here is a shot, taken by me from the drivers seat, while the helicopter sets up for the next test point. Most of the time the driver cannot see the helicopter, so good radio procedures are required.

And finally a shot of the aircraft coming straight at us, showing how we have taken over the airfield with all our test kit and the pre-fab hanger, required as the AW101 is too big to fit in any of the existing hangers.

I used a fast shutter speed for to minimise camera shake while we blatted down the runway. For the next batch of work, I might try a slower speed to get some blur into those rotors.
