Seahawk
Thanks, Libor. I was wondering, because I noticed that my kit has what looks like the guns to a four-gun turret moulded on a parts tree. It looks like Hasegawa might release a Lib with BP turrets, no doubt in RAF Coastal Command markings. I hope so. Apols for hijacking the thread but does anyone know why the RAF went to the time, expense and trouble of replacing a turret with twin fifties with a turret with 4 x .303s? Whether the target's aircraft or sub, why sacrifice range and hitting power? Nick.
dogsbody
Just off the top of my head, but I think some of the early RAF Libs were delivered sans turrets.
Seahawk
Just off the top of my head, but I think some of the early RAF Libs were delivered sans turrets. Think you're right but surely no longer the case by the time the GR.Vs came along. Another reason for not replacing the turrets: complicates logistics with aircraft having guns of 2 different calibres. I just can't see the point. Back to the model: that's the most convincing 1/72 Leigh light I've ever seen. Nick
Redboost
Awesome- The Leigh Light is (excuse the pun) blinding!!! How did you get the reflective effect? Hi, the effect is maybe because the way I took the shot, but the lens is done from pieces of silver self adhesive tape "filtered" with Smoke and Blue clear Tamiya acrylics. Alan P
Wow! Missed this one first time. It's a stunner. Beautiful finish, the semi-gloss sheen really works despite the weathered finish. Looks superb! Al
