Grant
and my first set of photos with my Canon 400D and Tamron 70-300mm lens. Not much to report in the way of arrivals, but some interesting shots. First up the helicopters... The Black Cats machine A Mk8 and a Mk3 up close A Mk7 doing a rooftop take-off (not!) And I am still having trouble with my zoom! The barrel rotates in the opposite from my previous set up - Doh! And some shots of a Merlin HMA Mk1 Fixed wing to follow...

Grant
First to arrive was a Tornado Later we had the VAAC Harrier in and then a real treat - an F-86! and finally a couple of Hunters Cold, tired and red in the face - but it beats working. cheers Grant
Grant
Weather was dry, windy (15kn ish) and mostly high overcast. Saw some sunshine and blue sky, but not much. But definitely WAY better than it is going to be tomorrow!!! The wind was also just East of South and the duty runway was 09. Which meant the favoured spot for the yearly (office and ex-office) get together wasn't best placed for landing photos. It is however very good for the 'junglies' and the Hunters very kindly taxied all the way to the end for us. cheers Grant
Red Dragon
Nice photos by the way, hope the weather hold s out for you tomorrow. J35 Draken
Really like the Hunters, the Ga11 looks very neat. Any shots of the Super Frelon?

thx6667
Got there at 9am and was out by 12pm, got all the pics I needed (all 600 of them). Static park was rather sparse, the Super Frelon was super and I managed to get some close up shots of the QinteiQ Harrier. For a change, this year there were no queues, not even a baggage search, you just walked into the main gate, handed over you ticket and that was it - same again please Yeovilton. Weather held out for me, and only started raining once I'd gone and was on the road to Street. Aerial highlight for was the Typhoon doing hand brake turns in the sky, the more I see that aeroplane, the more I am impressed with it. Its clearly a highly effective aeroplane, but in the hands of the Royal Air Force... well to paraphrase that (perhaps spurious) quote from Wellington, "I don't know what effect it will have on the enemy, but by God, it terrifies me." Bargain of the day had to be in Tesco's where I went to pick up some milk and bagged a 2gb card for my camera, reduced from £30 to £15! Result!
