How can you choose just one of these schemes?

Well, I bought it for the 2nd one, but now I'm leaning towards the check tail - its like a poor mans 56 sqdn Lightning ;)

Go for the chequers - nowt like a "poor man rightning" - reminds me of a William Tell USAF scheme for some reason - bit I cant quite finger it yet ( uugh)

I bet that you're thinking of the F-4Cs from the 57th FIS, they had a black and white checkerboard pattern over the entire tail and the outer half of the stabilators, they also had a red apple emblazoned with 'William Tell '76', pierced with a blue arrow on the outside half of the wing tanks.

And I like the pale blue checkerboard tail more than the black one, by the way.

And the Hasegawa 1/72 F-4C/D includes it is a markings option.
