AnonymousAA72
This model was meant to be a part of the "Cold War" group build!! Well, I managed to miss that deadline totally...but she's (almost - theres a few items I need to finish off) finished at last!! Its the Airfix GR3 converted and detailled - there should be some progress pic's on the Group Build - maybe? It should appear in print, in a WH Smiths (other newsagents are available!) in a month or so...but in the meantime..... xffw45343tg
Looks lovely Bill - GR1s have such clean lines. I for one would certainly welcome the "build progress". May I nit pick? It looks like you've painted a red dot on the leading edge of the wing roots and in the wing RCVs - the 1st is a hole for the engine bay zone 2 vent, and the second about the same colour as the hot nozzles. Also (sorry!), the foot step on the starboard side of the cockpit extends as the canopy opens. Doesn't detract from a very nice model indeed. Cheers, Kirk PS/ 1:48? Thanks Kirk, it is indeed 1/48th and that red dot is included in the "Fire Access" decals - for some reason! The footstep has been scratchbuilt and will be added before I submit to "The Press!!" I'll add a few additional photo's when its really complete!! And thanks to everyone for your kind comments and feedback. Mike in Aotearoa
Kia Ora Bill have to concur with the others, another fine build from the Clark production line! From the photos I've seen of the real thing, you seem to have got the look of it down pat - and it's interesting to see it finished in the early scheme too. I'll have to keep an eye out for it in print! Cheers Mike Aldridge
