MASH4077
At Duxford at the weekend in the MAFVA tent there were some vendors selling resin cast AFV`s in various scales, as I am haveing no luck whatsoever in finishing a kit I was wondering if I could get ahead with these pre finished kits, can anyone give me a lead to these manufacturers and their web sites? If not does anyone know where I can purchase some skill, dexterity and patience? I do not want etched brass, fully detailed engines, 4,000 part tracks, and multiple get lost in the carpet bits. Nev
No problem. http://www.xs4all.nl/~cromwell/ http://www.milicast.com/pages/index.shtml I've got some of each of their stuff. Dead easy, less than 10 parts. Hardest part is removing the tank body from the pouring block with a razor saw. Must take all of 5 mintues that bit

MASH4077
Nev, I have had a good look at the two web sites and the quality seems slightly better on the Milicast items than the Cromwell , have you found this to be true?

Just my personal opinion - yes. I haven't dealt with Cromwell for a couple of years but the guy who runs Millicast is definately one of the good guys. gengriz
FWIW I have done a set of quick build 1/72 Cromwell tank things this year (an FV432, Spartan, and an Abbot SPG), all bought from the Hannants London shop and I was hugely impressed - the level of detail really is incredibly fine. Richard E
They do require assembly but could I also suggest Continental Model Supply Company (CMSC) particularly if you're interested in modern British armour. Richard E
Thanks , but do all CMSC resin kits look like the surface of the moon? I've never had a problem with the quality of any of their kits: do you have a particular one in mind?

On the PDI Model Supplies site under CMSC listing item MAC-30 Saxon REME vehicle looks a bit like honeycombe. Richard E
On the PDI Model Supplies site under CMSC listing item MAC-30 Saxon REME vehicle looks a bit like honeycombe. Hmmm see what you mean - that's not typical of their offerings though

Nev
Nev, I have had a good look at the two web sites and the quality seems slightly better on the Milicast items than the Cromwell , have you found this to be true? Wouldn't say that - they are both incredibly fine in the detail department. The detail on Millicast figures is a bit soft though. If you want some crews for your little tankies, then AB Figures are your first and only choice. And agree with Richard, the Millicast guy was incredibly helpful when I spoke to him on the phone - he wanted to check that I really wanted 3 Black Princes! (I had given him the wrong code :dum: )
