BadCop Posted June 24, 2008 Share Posted June 24, 2008 Andy, I think the standard for tanks was the MG34, and I haven't seen any pics of commanders cupola MG mounts with any other gun. I imagine it would be possible for the MG42 to be mounted there, and with wartimes conditions in the last months of WW2 for Germany, anything goes really. The MG42 and MG34 were very similar weapons in size and weight, the biggest difference being that the '42 was made largely out of stampings for ease of production and low cost, and it had a terrific rate of fire in excess of 1,000 rpm!
