spike7451
OK,Just been on the Wonderland models site as I'm thinking of a 1/48 Harrier for a next build.Anyhoo, they have a Revell GR7/9 & a Hasagawa GR7 in their listings. Which is the best? Merv
turnerdad
They are the same kit, but knowing Hasegawa decals (and I have the Hasegawa offering so I know)go for the Revell boxing.
Graham T
Yes exactly the same kit, Revell simply provide decals for a GR9 in addition to the GR7 (no visible external difference between the marks)
thx6667
One thing to watch out for on the 1/48 Hase HARII kits is the kink on the wing leading edge - its should be a more gentle twist in camber but for some reason Hase moulded it as an abrupt change of angle. Be interesting to see if the 1/32 Trump kit gets this right.
Bobski
You need to watch out for the LERX - either 65% or 100%. Check the a/c number with photos to make sure you get the right LERX for the aircraft. The kit only has a 65% LERX, but TwoMikes make a very nice 100% replacement in resin. As for the kink in the wing, if you follow the instructions the kink is very pronounced. However, if you put it together slightly differently (which you really need to do to get the front fuselage to sit correctly) the kink is a lot less obvious. It involves gluing the lower surfaces of the wings to the fuselage before attaching the tops of the wings. It seems to 'fix' or at least lessen the kink doing that - I've built a few and I can see the difference.

coronado
Hello ! I have read your suggestions about the LERX, very instructive . I have recently purchased 2 Hasegawa GR 7 (1/72nd scale) ; One will be Operation Telic with shark teeth (RAF No 4 Sqn ZG859/91 , Kuwait, spring 2003), the other will be a GR 9 . I find very difficult to get information on the LERX size carried by the planes ; do all GR7 have 65 or 100 % LERX ? And what about the GR 9 paint scheme ? Is it overall medium sea grey or the same two-tone camouflage as on the GR 7 ? Thanks a lot if you can help me

Somewhere on here, there's a list of which planes have what kind of LERX. GR.7s and .9s come in both flavours. If you have the serial, you can always go to Airliners.net and do a search for the specific aircraft.
