aeroplanedriver
I've been playing around with my new scanner and thought I's post a couple of old pics. First a few of the B-25 I got to ride in back in 92. I had worked at the airshow we hed at our little country airport, and was offered a ride in this B-25 the next day as it moved on to its next display. The weather the day of the flight wasnt too nice, but I was more interested on the inside of the aircraft anyway. The two guys pictured were coworkers at the time. The one on the left was a flight instructor and FAA examiner who had been a B-29 gunner in Korea, the other was a mechanic who had been a C-141 Crew Chief in the Vietnam era. The next is of an ex-Swiss Vampire that was based at my home airport for a while. I was supposed to get a ride in it, but hte day we had planned it ended up being the day I started my first flight instructor job 80 miles away. He sold it before we had a chance to reschedule, but I did manage to get a taxi run in. The owner also owned a T-33 and a couple of Jet Provosts, but unfortunately was killed a few years after this pic in a Helio Courier. Finally is a C-47 that was operated by a cargo company in Charlotte, NC when I flew for USAirways Express there. The colours are authentic, as this aircraft actually took part in D-Day. If I remember correctly it pulled a glider.
