This book arrived on my door mat from Amazon last week (for good price!)

This new book is a must have for the Tornado fan.

The title is a little misleading as I was expecting a history book on the Tornado aircraft, but this book does not cover that!

The author explains on the back cover that to cover the whole Tornado story would make a large book, so he has only covered the later recon versions of the aircraft.

The book covers the development of the Recon Tornado GR1A and its entry into squadron service, operations in Desert storm and Op Telic. Also described is the later development of the GR4A version with the RAPTOR pod.

There is also a small section on the German IDS/ECR recon version.

Full history of the airframes converted to the recon version are provied.

The book has some excellent photos of the Tornado and will make a good reference book for modeling.
