desmojen
I keep seeing these on e bay.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MASTER-CRAFT-F-16A-S...1QQcmdZViewItem Apologies for mahoosive linky thing, I don't know how to make them little! The kit I've linked to is one of the only two F-16's I've ever felt inclined to actually build. What kit is it, a re-pop or Mastercraft's own? How would it compare to the Revell kit of the same subject for example? There are many others on e bay, some really nice looking Mustangs and they are cheap. Just wondering if they're any good? Jen. AnonymousA667
Apologies for mahoosive linky thing, I don't know how to make them little! Use the 'insert link' button when writing your post. You can either hit the button and paste in a URL and give it a different name, or highlight some text you've already written, hit the button and paste in the URL. Never come across that brand of kit before. At the price I would be tempted to try one out, but I would not have great expectations. peebeep
dahut
Dunno. Suspect an offshoot or rebox rebox of some Chines bits, like the Hobby Boss stuff. Get one and see.
MikeC
I believe Modelcraft are a Canadian company. I've seen a series of F-82s in their boxes, but not pursued them further - too many singleton Mustangs to build and too little time! I have built their T-6. It was the Occidental mouldings with a rather nice multi-option decal sheet for about 6 (iirc) post-war USAF and ANG machines. I'm sure their F-16 will be a rebox of someone else's moulds, but no idea who's. Based on my Harvard experience (gosh, never thought I'd be able to legitimately say that ) I would go for it if I wanted another F-16 and the price was right. GreenDragon
IIRC Mastercraft were mostly reissues of KP/Kopro kits. The only one I have is a MiG19 that is definitely the KP kit right down to the instruction sheet but with new decals with less options than the original KP kit. The wooksta V2.0
I picked up a Novo Wyvern in one of their boxings some years back for £1.50. No decals or canopy but it was worth is for the box art. Never seen it again since.
Gary C
Run. They're a poor quality copy of the already not very good Italeri F-16. No comparison to the Revell kit which is still available in those markings.
Paul
I've got this Modelcraft Vixen in my stash, It's a re-box of a dodgy old russian kit. Nice new decals to suppliment the terrible old russian ones, might use them on an Xtrakit Vixen.

I'm not sure how Modelcraft got into the discussion, Jens link was for a brand called Mastercraft. peebeep
John
We're talking about 2 different companies in this thread: Modelcraft is the Canadian operation who made the F82 and have reboxed a number of other kits, including a nice rendition of the old FROG Swordfish Mastercraft are the Eastern European operation who boxed the F-16 Jen is asking about John

desmojen
Apologies for being a biff chaps, my fault! I am of course talking about Mastercraft, not Modelcraft. Sorry It would appear that the best option is to run away bravely then Jen.
thx6667
That be the Frog tooling of the Sea Vixen. And back in the 80s people were paying insanely stupid prices for that and the Shackleton - it might be an old kit but the subsequent reappearance of it under Russian steam, then Revell, then various boxings, has killed off the second hand market. upnorth
Mastercraft is a Polish outfit. As stated in a post above, a good amount of their catalog is reissued (and often reworked Kopro kits). Their MiG-19 and MiG-21 are both KP in origin but retooled to incorporate recessed panel lines rather than the original raised ones and often have different decal options. The might be fun to use for What If projects or to use as a hack model to try new techniques, but if you want to make a serious replica of the subject, look elsewhere.
