DHC2 Beaver

Recommended Posts

Built for a friend of mine a few years ago. My first attempt at rigging with stretched sprue - I had yet to discover Aeroclub's stretchy rigging thread.

May I be the first to say...Nice Beaver! :D

Ok, I'll leave of my own accord, there's no need to throw me out

That's fantastic!

I too have the same kit which I bought having seen the real things in Vancouver a couple of years ago.

It's inspiring me to get mine out of 'The Pile' perhaps sooner than later.

Mine is at the stage where I seriously need to think about painting. Going to do the same one, although my floats will be silver..

Great piece of work, inspires me to at least match yours!

Cheers,

Derek

I am about a tenth of the way through a Noorduyn Norseman - the Beavers older cousin, if you will.

Michael Potter of Vintage Wings says that the Beaver is the world's best STOL aircraft - and he's flown a lot of different aircraft.

Here's a link to Vintage Wings. http://www.vintagewings.ca/page?s=63〈=en-CA

Your model is a very fine representation of a very handsome aircraft - congratulations.

Hi Bootneck

You could try using an Aeroclub white metal replacement prop. I obtained a few of their 1:48 Fairey Reed 3-blade props for use with the Special Hobby Grumman Goose kit that I have yet to build in a civvy scheme. The blades may need to be re-profiled but it is a starting point.
