Magman - yeah I've got that pic or one very similar , thats about as much as I can get on that - thanks.

On the subject of the undercarriage I've heard that it is the same as used in or adapted from the Boeing 767, also the B-2's wing generates so much lift pilots have to adopt a naval style landing - could be another explanation for the hefty wheelset - that and the enormous bombload it can carry !

Well i managed to throw a bit of paint onto the bomb-bay at the weekend, most of the basic colours are in place, a couple of things need tidying up but this is the current result.

Cheers peeps, I must admit there were a few bemused looks when returned to the Britmodeller table with this bugger under my arm, still I guess I'm a sucker for a challenge

A close relative of Jonny Come I'm told.

Very fine work so far Skii, she'll look interesting parked next to the TSR-2 in your display cabinet. Am I correct in thinking you are over the worst with this one now or are there still areas requiring an undue amount of attention?

Hi Col

yes, that pretty much the icky stuff done, I still have 16 JDAMS to paint, bomb bay and undercarriage doors, crew access ladder to scratch and undercarriage to finish, but we are defiantely over the worst of it .

The odd thing is I'm actually enjoying it lol...

Wonder what they mean by that... Having almost 300 traps, I'm not 100% convinced the REST of the B-2s airframe (landing gear not withstanding) would find the sort of negative VSI I've grown accustomed to agreeable.

Crikey, now there are some credentials ! I'll go along with your opinion there Kolja, you'll be an invaluable source of info around these parts for sure, thankyou.

Right - another small update, because the aircraft is like a huge plate I can progress one side and worry about the other side later, so the upper surface had another coat of lightened gunship grey and then subtle mottled weathering effects, then masked ready for the base coat of standard Gunship grey, the overall effect should recreate the basic 2-tone RAM effect seen in so many inflight pics like this

Still hard to believe that's the same undetailed, poorly fitting kit I did about 10 years ago. I think I'll need another go at it. :)
