Skii
Thanks peeps John,Do you work for the US military by any chance? What are you using as reference... Whatever it is, its working big time! Looking forward to more progress. Happy New Year! Bob Hiya bob - I'm using the Squadron Signal book I bought from Modelsforsale http://www.modelsforsale.com/catalog/produ...ducts_id=103440 and World Air Power Journal borrowed from Desmojen , both books have some very detailed images but a lot of stuff is still guesswork like the gearbay roof, i guess the advantage here is you can't be accused of innacuracy lol Happy New Year all J

Skii
I'll consider this bit a milestone , main assembly on all undercarriage legs completed, enough to do a test fit and get the model to stand up for the first time, and very stable too! As it is the aircraft adopts a slightly nose-up stance which i'll adjust. Lots more detail to add but so far so good !

Skii
Well thankyou peeps, most encouraging and kind words - very much appreciated. I'm hoping to post some more pics up soon as the outer ailerons/elevators/flaps and split rudder hinges are assembled and in place, all that remains is some fine tuning and minor details before the fuselage is ready for paint which I'm very much looking forward to ! Mike
I've never noticed what a hefty wheelset the B-2's got. What's the reason for that?
Alan P
I've never noticed what a hefty wheelset the B-2's got. What's the reason for that? Could be something to do with a max take-off weight of 336,000lb. To maintain an acceptable tyre pressure on the take-off roll, the weight has to be distributed across the main landing gear. That's why bigger aeroplanes have more wheels. Edited January 22, 2009 by PHaTNesS
