I forgot to mention a few details on the Lanc:

The museum has pictures of FM104 pre-dedication and she was mainly intact.

When they put her up on the pedestal, they cut through the floor of the aircraft using I believe an Oxy/Acetylene torch. They removed about 10 feet of floor. The spar web/cap was also cut.

This was done so that a 3/4" steel plate and I beam structure could be installed. The I beam ran from the center section to just in front of the Tail gunners position. A lot of corrosion due to bird crap. In some spots the floor is paper thin. The people that lived in her weren't too kind either.

IIRC the Merlins all have major issues.

Parts are slowly being collected as opportunity and budget permit.

The turret was a donation from a local Tail Gunners Association!

Dave,

I imagine that you must have visited Toronto then. I hope you had a great time.

We are just finishing the last few weeks of winter here. So far, we have had 190 centimeters of snow.

Other parts of the Province have had more.

In Montreal some of the snow piles are so high you can climb them and reach the power lines.

Me, I am seriously thinking of moving to British Columbia, or emigrating.

Here is a sample picture:

Snow

Edited for sentence structure in spots.
