Julien
I was watching the BBMF at Duxford today on our local news and it struck me that its odd that it is called such when it commemerates all the RAF and what they did during the war. Even more odd that the mainstay is the Lanc which was not a Battle Of Britian aircraft. While I dont want to in anyway make it seem that I dont value what was accomplished during the Battle of Britain I think we should change the name to something like the RAF memorial Flight or RAF Heratige Flight ? Just a thought, what do you guys think?? Julien
Robin
Hi Julien, there is a saying which goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Don't you mean, "Royal Air Force Heritage Flight". Robin.
Gary West
Tradition being what it is, I can't see it ever being changed but taking your point Julien, Heritage Flight works. It could also be expanded - why not add a Meteor or Hunter etc. Fair dues to the RN, their Heritage Flight is pretty good.
