tedtaylor
These are all waiting for the final matt coat then the masking will be removed and final parts added. Kit Decals, built OOB This one had the wing dihedral adjusted and the decals are from odds & sods in my collection. Has Lincoln rudders and rear camera bay scratch built, Got the scheme from Aircam series No12, inspired by that chap at Hyperscale. This appears to be the kit decals but they represent the plane during the war where as these markings are those applied to the BOB machine PA474 with the Lincoln rudders Enjoy Ted Edited March 1, 2008 by tedtaylor

Angels49
The Grey and white one attracts attention doesn't it. Need I say that they are mighty fine works, Ok I will. LotusArenco
Three of 'em! That's just greedy. I really have to pull my finger out and get one of these built. My Grandfather was a Lancaster wireless operator, 166Sqn. Mart
Hurrinut
Ted what did you do to alter the wing dihedral?
Smiffy
Fantastic. My Grandad also served on Lancs. He was a Navigator with 44, 9 & 50 SQNs during the war, so the Lanc has always had a special place in my heart. These look like 3 great ones. Top notch job Ted. tedtaylor
Ted what did you do to alter the wing dihedral? I added a 10thou shim of plasticard to the bottom of the wing at the bend to give a little more dihedral
galgos
The Lancs are looking really good Ted. Can you tell this born-again-modeller who's gradually getting in touch with modern techniques and the use of things such as Klear, what are you using for your matt coat? Regards Max
JosephLalor
Hi Ted, What was your source of Lincoln rudders? Probably see you at Hornchurch. Those Lancs are coming along nicely. Thanks, Joseph Edited March 2, 2008 by JosephLalor

Thanks, Joseph Homemade Joseph I used a bit of scrap 80thou plasticard from my scrap box, I cut the bottom of the rudder off stuck the scrap on and sanded to shape then added a 20thou trim tab. Miggers
Wow Ted they look very nice. I followed your builds(and the late, great Geoff Prentice's vacforms) for many years in the old Scale Models International mag,and I must say you've not lost your touch. Those three have inspired me to get on with my own Lanc,(there'll be some more "In Build" pics very shortly)to be finished as RF141/JO*U/Uncle Joe again from 463 Sqn. Just a quick question though, how did you find the wing root fit?.I dunno whether it's me or what, but mine is very tight on the spars and has about a half mil gap 'twixt wing and fuselage. Some folks are saying the wing root joint is so good they don't need filler, mine'll need a smidgin I reckon. Mark

Mark Mark, I found the wing would not fit into the recess by a tiny fraction if left as is, it was a fraction of a MM too far forward so I enlarged the slot in the wing face on its forward edges so it would sit back a little then the wing slipped in perfectly . This is probably why yours is still out a fraction. I have only used a bit of filler to blank out the fuselage windows when not needed. Hope that helps Ted
