T-Tango
Hi guys and galls, help required on the jolly ol' 'alftrack, I'm doing it as an Afrika Korps vehicle, however painting instructions are zero, particularly as regards interior colours for instruments, radios, fittings, seats etc. etc. So if any of you more experienced treadies can throw any light on the matter, the help would be much appreciated. T-Tango
Cheers Daz, been a big help again many thanks, what about the dash and interior bodywork, was it grey or sand coloured.
Andy K
The interior of a 251 at that period would have been Panzer Grey, same as the exterior. When vehicles were shipped out to North Africa they initially retained the grey finish however the crews would just plaster mud over the vehicle to try and camouflage it until the supply of paint caught up. The paint was applied directly over the grey so weathered very quickly. Also vehicle numbers, unit badges etc were usually left on the grey background. Hope this helps! T-Tango
I'm painting this one Sand Yellow, so this is why I was curious as to how the interior would be painted including the dash etc.
Andy K
Sorry, I should have said the interior would stay grey. The exterior would have been camouflaged. Ooopsie.......
