Ebay Madness

Recommended Posts

Despite supporting my local model shop as much as poss I do try to bag the odd bargain on ebay. Not any more it seems : I was watching a 1/48 Blackburn Firebrand which went yesterday for £51. Hannants list the same kit for £41.85!!

Similar thing happened with a sea mosquito conversion set.

Seems that some of us are slightly more bonkers than we thought!!!!

It does happen... the thrill of the chase causes a sudden loss of reason, and up the price goes. I think some market research before bidding would be sensible too, but I guess if the buyer thinks he got a bargain, who are we to argue?

I know I was looking at tsr2 resin and etch and the prices are about double that hannants stock them. as an example Czech exhaust nozzles, buy-it-now £19.99. Hannants £3.40.

The 3.40 set is just the exhaust covers not the whole set that includes covers, nozzles, intakes etc. and that's on eBay at 12.99 BIN, not 19.99 - still more than Hannants price (10.20) admittedly.

How about the guy who put his built up Helldiver on ebay for $600USD, shipping gratuitously included?

I keep checking on it, he still has it there, re-listed 'ad nauseum'. It's not just bidders who dont look beyond the tip of their nose...
