Un-related and un-interesting trivia. The day the AEW3 was cancelled was my first day at Comprehensive. I remember this cos it was stooging around over my school waiting for the right time to go and do a "farewell" flypast (over Waddington IIRC). Julien Posted February 15, 2008 Share Posted February 15, 2008 I am not sure how easy this would be to do. The front radome would be fairl easy, but the rear; thats different. I was just looking at some pics and the rear configuration seemed to vary. I have seen one shot with no rear dome at all. On I saw which was a late shot the whole tail seemed to be filled out at the join of the tailpane and fin to accpet a larger rear dome. It also seems that longer tailplanes were fitted. I once converted a Novo/Frog 1/96 Comet 4 into a Nimrod, and then carried out an AEW.3 conversion...then some :w***: nicked it before I could finish it (I made up some scale drawings for it during the Falklands war ).
