Angels49 Posted February 15, 2008 Share Posted February 15, 2008 (edited) I just saw a news report that says the US has a sick spy satellite that has a decaying orbit and they plan to shoot it down (between the lines, shoot the damn thing down and keep that technology out of the hands of the other guys). Officially, it has some type of gas on board that could prove harmful if said bird came down and did not burn up entering the atmosphere. Anyone here remember the movie in the '60's starring Rock Hudson, "Ice station Zebra" . I'm remembering that the AF has an anti-satellite missile that is launched from an "E" Eagle, the "ASM-135 ASAT". Sure would be nice to know if the damn thing functioned as advertised. added: Well that was short, update: It will be killed using a missile from an Aegis Cruiser.
