Guest Cop
hi Graham. I must say your doing a bang up job on that. The cockpit is paticulary good, very impressive. And having seen this kit in the flesh at SMW, I can appreciate all the work you have put in to attain such a high standard. Nigel.
JakeEaton
I know from first hand experience how much work it is to scratchbuild the amount of detail you're putting into this bird...but to have to make EVERYTHING from just-about scratch is truely admirable. That cockpit really turned out beautifully. Keep it up and I'll be following your future progress very closely.
Graham
Cheers guys here is a small update, the wheel well has been boxed in and I am drawing out the panel lines.

Graham
Here is my attempt at scribing and making rivets with a drill, the exhausts are from the Revell kit and are drilled out and they don't look to bad as when the shrouds are on they will still be seen. Mike
Aah! Was hoping you'd pop up again soon with some more progress You used Revell exhausts? Pardon my ignorance if I've missed summit - is this off the 1:32 mossie? Won't they be too small?
Graham
Mike they will be covered by the exhaust shroud and when that's in place you can only see the stubs, it's so I would have some detail in there rather than a hole.

I'm with ya... I suppose it's cheaper than finding a 1:24 scale kit with similar exhausts just for those 4 parts. What's happened to the rest of the Mossie kit? Did you kill it? Mike
It does look good, doesn't it? Nice scribing job on those nacelles too. I can't tell from the pics, but the Revell 1:32 Mossie was criticised for not having the scooped/sculpted/sloping nacelle sides. How're the nacelles on this? Graham
Mike they are flat as per the Revell kit but I think in the instructions it says that the slopes should be formed using Milliput so I am using the Tamiya kit as a guide and I will use Milliput fine (white). Graham
Small update as the kids are off on holiday so progress has slowed more than usual anyway both engines done and scribing started on the wing. Graham.
Mike
Looks proper Bo' Graham, and is that a Mastercasters sponge sander I spy in the background?
seanrgb
Great stuff Graham , Never ever attempted a Vac kit , your making this look so Easy
Graham
More scribing done and the other wing marked out Mike those are the mastercaster sponges and they are a god send, Sean this is my first real attempt at a vac, I previously tried a 32nd Lanc but it was just to big but this is the furthest I have gone with one. jenshb
Maybe it's the angle, but the panel lines for the main spar seem to have slight sweepback...? Shapes and proportions seem better now than the built up sample at Heritage's stand. Jens
Graham
Jens the wings when completed still need to be blended into the fuselage, here is the engine fitted to the wing and very little filler needed. Graham.
