You can change your profile settings from your control panel, which is accessed by clicking My Controls from the top-right menu bar.

Once in there, you will see a menu down the left hand side of the screen. Under the heading Personal Profile, choose Edit Your Signature, which will bring up the following screen:

As you can see, the screen is almost exactly like the standard posting screen, so you can add smileys, pictures & all sorts to your signature. please bear in mind however that large pictures & lots of text will make for a rather confusing post for everyone else, so try to keep your signature compact, with a smaller font than the standard, so that people can tell the difference.
