  1. Hello Everybody well its time to post this year’s yearbook photo’s. I was able to finish 19 total this year, and have 7 more in the almost finished pile. Starting in January i was able to build my 1st target since I've come back to modeling. I built a 1/48 Tamiya generic M-10 Achilles of the British army in Italy. With a name like this it gives new meaning to the term “Chelsea Tractor” (Thank you Jeremy Clarkson). Next up was my KUTA build an ancient 1/48 Lindberg Beech Stagger-wing that i converted into a bush plane w/ski’s. I dedicated it to my Brother Mike, h
  2. Hi folks, It's 2018 here in New Zealand, so this is coming in at the metaphorical eleventh hour, but here are my finished things from 2017. Not a terrible year but a bit short on variety in places (I didn't manage any aircraft or armour for the first time in ages!) I started with this Cosmo Zero, the Cosmo Falcon is still in a mix of primer and basecoats which is a little embarrassing... Bandai 1/72 kit from Space Battleship Yamato 2199. Also Bandai is this tiny box-scale (1/8000?) kit of the Elysion carrier from the most recent Macross se

  4. Until 2017, most of my building in recent years has been scratch building on model railways for customers. There have been a few plastic kits of buildings, but mostly scratch work in wood, styrene and acrylic; plus a bit of helping my daughter learn to build. This year, I've done some aircraft for myself, but quite a few models for friends, building aircraft they like, or aircraft that they fly or own. The idea to frame the models in a 3D picture frome came about from the "Snoopy verses the Red Baron" model my daughter and I built this year. It was a way to hang the model out of the way of
  5. Hi all, Sorry for the longer-than-usual absence over Christmas - I was involved with some more design work for Scale Models Wellington, then many late nights at the end of my work contract, which then got extended meaning more late nights. After that I had to do the Christmas shopping, cook the dinner etc. etc. and I'm only just winding down from all that. Next step is to clean the office so I can start using it for modelling again! In the meantime, here are the things I finished in 2016 - please don't ask about the things I started! I began with a couple of
  6. Figured it might be easier to post just the links, at least then you go and read up on them if you want. Two F8U-1As, a 1939 Willys gasser and a 2015 Peterbilt wrecker which is now done. I figure it would qualify of this year. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235001828-172-f8u-1-crusader-140444-and-140446-done/ http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235000769-1939-willys-gasser-done/ http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235014127-2015-peterbilt-tri-axle-wrecker-done/
  7. Hi all, I seem to have spent most of the year apologising for not finishing things! It's not a good look is it? But we did move house (unplanned, something came on the market we really liked after we'd just about committed to staying put). Then my wife spent a month swanning around Europe's ivory towers while I looked after small and kept up work. After that I'm not sure what happened. Anyway, here's what's emerged from the forest of started-and-unfinished threads this year: (click for bigger) A set of three Baldwin Steam Tanks from the wargame "All Quiet on the Martian Front" -
  8. Hi folks, I was putting off posting this in the hope that I'd get something else finished before Christmas, but after my contract finished last week I've spent my time either preparing for Christmas, doing some extra bug-fixing work, or being ill with the traditional end-of-contract cold. So we'll just have to make do with what there is up to now I had a late start to the year - I think it was February or March before I actually completed something, and that was the horrible squiggly beast which is Games Workshop's Tyranid Haruspex. I wasn't sure I liked this model initially but it grew
  9. I joined the forum at the end of February 2012, and that coincides with my starting to shift towards plastic modelling rather than railway modelling. I've been putting off making this list since I found I finished less than I would've liked, but maybe if I put it up it'll encourage me to at least get Surcouf onto a stand before the weekend Britmodeller has been an awesome source of inspiration this year and has got me making models instead of just looking at them. Hasegawa Ju87D Stuka in 1/32, with Eduard etch and Mastercasters' exhausts and prop blades. Built for the Big Scale Group Build
