  1. Hi, Anyone got any ideas where I can get the dimensions for the bigger span oz F111 wings ? Like to build one but im not shelling out 50 60 70 quid for one, cant be to difficult to sandwich a couple of pieces of plastic card together and etch out some details
  2. I have been researching the four Boeing 307's that were bailed back to TWA in 1944 as C-75's. According to written sources I found, they were fitted with wings, engines, and stabilizers from the B-17G. In photos I have found, you can see the B-17G horizontal stabilizers, paddle blade props, engines, cowlings, and wings with the slots for exhausting air from the intercoolers that were fitted to the G's. My question is: since the wings and powerplants from the B-17G were fitted, did these four 307's also have the turbosuperchargers? I have found no photos of the underside of the aircraft so modified that shows whether or not they were present. I have my doubts that they were, as there don't seem to be any intakes in the leading edge of the wings for the intercoolers or oil coolers in any of the photos I have seen, and the exhaust does not seem to be that of the B-17G, It would be nice to know, as I wouldn't have to fill the space normally occupied by the superchargers on my donor B-17G kit, but I wanted to ask the assembled experts. What do you think? Mike

Which was the first plane to have fuel tanks inside the wings? Paulo Barbosa
  4. I had it long time waiting till starting this wonderful kit..... the HANSA BRANDENBURG W.29 in scale 1/32 by Wingnut Wings. There is nothing unsaid about this amazing kit so that I do not want to loose time.... and start directly with the first pictures of it..... The engine.... I added some wire and replaced some parts with thin plastic pipes ..... and painted all in black / iron. The iron was polished aferwards before adding some oil paint, drybrushing and pigments to it ..... All interior parts got a primer with brown lifecolor, before making the wooden parts with oil colors. I wanted to give it a darker look on the inside and used mostly dark brown colors. The tanks and other metal parts were painted with Revell Aqua colors and received some polishing and oil color washing after it. Next I have added more and more parts to the interior ..... Do not wonder about the missing seatbelts... I am waiting for the lased cut parts from HGW right now ..... Hope you like it so far .... Cheers Michael
  5. I have the Revell version of the Monogram F-102A in 1/48 (stock code 04586). It has the case X wingtips. Did I read somewhere that only one of the decal options is correct for this configuration, and the other should go on a Case XX airframe? Or was I imagining it?
  6. Just started on a build of the Revell nee Matchbox Walrus and have been doing some dry fitting and I am puzzled about the dihedral or lack of it on both sets of wings!! Does anyone have a decent set of plans for the Supermarine Walrus which gives the dihedral for both the upper and lower wings? Or was there specific instructions on one of the 1/48th kits by Special Hobby? In the old Profile booklet the centrefold profile seems to show no dihedral in the nose-on-view but the side profiles seem to hint at dihedral on the lower wing. The (basic) rigging diagram on the Revell instruction sheet has both wings flat but it is only a simple drawing to aid basic rigging not an accurate plan. The mouldings when dry fitted give some dihedral on the lower wings but very different angles on port and starboard!
