  1. What's happened to Mastercasters as their website has disappeared? Does anyone have an idea where I can get hold of a set of Mastercasters 1/48 TSR-2 Aux intakes???
  2. Does anyone know where I can lay my hands some information on the TSR-2 tow-bar e.g. photos etc, I need to find information on the yoke or head end of the piece of equipment because all the images are very blurred. So, does anyone have any photos of the yoke or head end of the this tow-bar? Also, does anyone have any information/ images of this tow-bar attached to the nose-gear of a TSR-2??? Another thing that I'd like to find photos of is detailed pictures of the crew boarding ladders because I'd like to find out some information as to why there appears to be several types used?? in some photos the ladders have a handle standing proud, whilst in other photos the handles are absent????? Why?? Did the TSR-2 have any dedicated Ground Support Equipment(GSE) and what would have been a typical GSE support package????
  3. Hello, Does anyone have any information on the Bluewater Missile which was a proposed missile that would have come in 2 varieties:- a) Surface to surface Missile Air to surface missile The Surface to Surface version would have been launched from the back of a truck (possibly the good old Bedford RL), whilst the Air to Surface version would have been launched from the TSR-2. in ether case it was intended as a tactical strike that may have had a Nuclear or conventional warhead! Does anyone have photos or information on this project etc.??
  4. Hi Mastercasters make a set of resin engine intakes/ Auxiliary Intake Doors (MPN 48033) for the Airfix 1/48 TSR-2 and they have been sold directly from their website and also through Hannants! However, this set is currently out of stock and it's uncertain if and when they'll be available again! So, Does anyone know where I can get hold of a set?? Regards

    TSR-2 question

I'm planning a future project for my second TSR-2 in 48th scale, getting all the detail sets etc, and will be adding my own detailing, opening up more panels etc.. anyway, I'm just curious if anyone has, or knows of, any photos of any of the airframes in their primer colours rather than the usual white? I have found a couple of pics in the Crowood book, which show the top sides of one of them, but I don't know if any even exist of the sides or undersurfaces in any other reference materials. I would imagine there is a finite amount of official (or otherwise) photos taken at the time, and I suspect what I have in my handful of books is pretty much the cream of he crop. TIA
  6. Pitot and Refuelling Probes 1:32/1:48/1:72/1:144 Master Having released the Sukhoi collection, Master Models have also recently released several sets for Western aircraft, with particular emphasis on the three V Bombers in both 1:72 and 1:144. [AM-32-090] – This pack contains two parts to build up the pitot probe and fairing for the Italeri 1:32 Mirage II. Rather than brass, the two parts have been turned in alluminium and is a simple direct replacement for the kit part. [AM-48-118] – Another simple replacement pitot probe, this time for the Airfix 1:48 BAC TSR-2, it may have been along time in coming, but it is, nevertheless, a very welcome addition. [AM-72-097/AM-144-009] – These two sets have been designed for the Airfix 1:72 and any of the 1:144 kits from the likes of Micro-Mir, Anigrand or Welsh Models. Each set contains two very fine pitot probes to replace the slightly clunky kit items. [AM-72-098/AM-144-010] – These sets contain only one item, the prominent refuelling probe. The 1:72 for he Airfix kit and the 1:144 for either the Anigrand or Great Wall Hobby kits. Unfortunately even though they are meant to be different scales the review samples re exactly he same size, so do check when you buy your 1:144 as it would be absolutely massive when compared to even the kit part. In each case though, you will need to cut the kit part where it joins the nose fairing, drill out the hole then fit the metal part before adding to the model. [AM-72-099/AM-144-011] – The last of the V bomber sets is naturally for the Victor, either the Matchbox/Revell 1:72 kit or the Anigrand/Welsh Models kits. Whilst he 1:72 set contains the two wing tip mounted pitot probes and the probe end piece for the refuelling probe, the 1:144 set does provide the whole refuelling probe as well as the pitot probes. Conclusion Five more very useful additions to the Master Models range. If you thought the 1:72 scale stuff was small, you really should check out the 1:144 scale parts. I would love to know how they produce such small items, with such finesse of detail. Very highly recommended Review sample courtesy of Piotr at
  7. Good afternoon everyone, On Sunday I went to Cosford and picked up, among other things, an Airfix 1:72 TSR-2 and a Pit Road 1:144 TSR-2 "Strike Role". So, seen as I'm planning on doing the 1:72 TSR-2 as my local Cosford example, I thought- why not utilise the 1:144 kit's belly fuel tank and martel missiles to create a "what-if" variant? Based on other info on the internet: This is my interpretation of the TSR-2 GR4 as it could have served in the 1990-1 Gulf War. it is fitted with a targetting "pod" underneath the nose of the cockpit and a retractable refuelling probe on the side of the cockpit, as well as the 4 underwing pylons with Martel missiles. -RBF tags and engine nozzle FOD covers made from paper -Paint was mixed from a variety of Vallejo Air colours -Decals from the Airfix Buccaneer (And the obligatory comparison with a 1p coin) Thanks for having a look! Any comments are much appreciated. Kind regards, Sam
  8. Good evening all, Just been to Bruntingthorpe's cold war jets day-superb stuff! Anyway the point is, I picked up a 1:48 TSR-2 for £28 and I was wondering what sort of things I should probably look out for in terms of building the kit (fit issues, etc)? I was thinking of not painting the kit (seen as it is moulded in white plastic) mainly because whenever I have sprayed stuff white in the past, thousands of dust particles suddenly appear on my previously white model and are trapped by the paint when it dries. So, what do you think of that? Is that ok for getting a decent finish on the model? I have also heard rumours that the landing gear can break rather easily, is this true? Thanks, apologies for any grammatical mistakes -i'm rather tired! Sam
