This is the project for this leave, along with trying to complete an armour project. This was pulled out of the stash because with a 16 week old puppy in the house any time for modelling is at a premium. Hopefully this will be nice, straightforward and easily achievable during puppy nap times. Emphasis on the hopefully. 😁 Roger.

Hi there! Just finished this nice Tamiya kit. Everything OOB and the only real flaw was one of the decals sheet, the smaller one, most stencils. Without exception, all of them cracked as soon as I tried to move them. I used warm water, cold water, decal solution, you name it, with no success. In some cases I was able to join the pieces and have them in place. But, as I said, a very nice kit. Hope you’ll like it. Cheers! George

A6M2b Zero Photo Etch Detail Set for Tamiya Kit 1:72 Eduard Until relatively recently, Tamiya had been rather quite on the 1:72 front. In recent months, however, they have released a couple of Mitsubishi Zeros and an Ilyushin Il-2, marking a promising return to the smaller scales. The Zero is widely regarded as an excellent kit. Its heritage in Tamiya's larger scale Zeros was apparent through the superb level of detail and engineering. Now Eduard have released a comprehensive set of photo etched detail parts for the A6M2b kit. A6M2b Zero (self adhesive) 1:72 Eduard The set is comprised of two frets of parts. The first is a pre-painted, self-adhesive fret. It holds parts for the cockpit, including a multi-layered instrument panel, side consoles, rudder pedals, the throttle control and details for the cockpit sidewall. Also included is a very realistic replacement seat which fully demonstrates the advantages of using photo etch over injection moulding in order to achieve a close-to-scale thickness. A full set of pre-painted harnesses are also included, along with decking for the sliding part of the canopy. The second fret contains a handful of smaller parts such as the ignition wiring for the engine and fasteners for the engine cowling, as well as some larger, structural parts. These include a complete set of landing flaps which, thanks to Eduard's user-friendly design philosophy, simply fold up to create a very effective structure. This fret also contains a host of parts for the undercarriage, including brake lines and inner surfaces to line the main landing gear bays. A6M2b Zero (Zoom) 1:72 Eduard The Zoom set is included just the pre-painted self-adhesive fret from the set reviewed above. Given the level of detail that Tamiya have crammed into their kit, this set would seem to be a wise choice unless you particularly want the landing flaps from the set above. Conclusion This is a great package that will allow you to take an already incredible kit to the next level. If youve already invested in Tamiya's Zero, then you would be well-advised to take a good look at this set too. Recommended. Review sample courtesy of
