  1. Hi guys, well that went together super quick, really enjoyed this build, great engineering. Instructions were not quite up to Tamiya's standards and not a beginner’s kit, for example the fuel tap was in 3 sections, a beautiful copy of the real thing, but the instructions were a bit vague as to how it all fitted. Lucky for me that I had seen an original tap up close and knew how it all should look, also at this scale this bike had loads of very fiddly cables and tubes to be cut to length and fitted in place. I painted the kit supplied chrome parts with a wash of AK grease enamel, I wanted the bike to look like it had been used all week to get to and from work and with lots of grime and rainwater exposure from the daily commute in all weathers, no show pony! Still I think it turned out a little gem in the end, I look forward to building another Hasegawa bike kit.
  2. This is my first bike build of 2019. I normally have finished at least one bike build at this point in the year, but I haven't had much free time to build a kit until now. Hasegawa got the model designation wrong, this bike is a K model not a B, Suzuki had a weird habit of launching models with the letter J and ending not with A but with B, confused? Example, GT750J 1st year of production 1971, followed by GT750K in the 2nd year of production, updates included a move to a single disc front brake, dropping the front drum brake from the 1st model. Anyway, this should be a fun build, looks a great kit with not too many parts. Wish me luck!
  3. Leftenant Aluminium here with my 1/12th scale titanium and chromoly Suzuki motocross bike of 1970. It is seven inches (17 cm) from nose to tail. The result captures the colourful, exciting, and optimistic outlook of the early 1970s, at least as it seems to me. It is basically the Revell kit of 1974, but with rider (two actually) and modern parts from Tamiya Honda and KTM motocross bike kits. 4. Hi Suzuki GSX1100S KATANA from TAMIYA, 1/12 OOB I made this model for myself Best regards Martin
  5. Morning All, Well, due to work and the wife's health and many other factors, I haven't really had a great deal of bench time this year. After a trip to Perth with Washington Model Club, I came back with a few kits, one of which was the 1/6th. Suzuki GSX1100S Katana, a kit I'd always wanted to build, ever since I saw it in the Tamiya catalogue, all those years ago. It also made a pleasant change from my usual focus of aircraft models, so much so that I bought a Tamiya Honda CBR100XX Super Blackbird kit the other week and I fancy the Ducati Super Panigale kit as well. Here it is, before I put the decals on. IMG_1424 by simon_rw, on Flickr And here it is, decalled up. IMG_1427 by simon_rw, on Flickr Thanks for looking.
  6. Well that was a cure for modellers block! This was a really fun build that took me back to my childhood when i used to build the tamiya bike kits and then my youth when i used to strip and rebuild my motorcycles. I have had so much fun i have bought some other bike kits. Kit was an easy build and considering its age still has so much detail in it and looks great. Right Ducati 916 next!
  7. Hello again, this is my Suzuki Katana custom I built last year. It was a lovely model to assemble and a great price, highly recommended. All done with hairy sticks and Humbrol enamel. Thanks for looking and any feedback would be appreciated, regards Siffo.
  8. Hi Everyone, Here is my next build : Tamiya 1/12 Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa. I have been thoroughly enjoying my ZX-14 build, so I found this in LSA models closing down sale. Anyway here are the photos of the box and the sprues for this kit. I will hopefully be making a start on this tomorrow. Box Art Sprues I will be building this kit in the colour scheme depicted on the box lid as I like the Blue/Silver combination. First update, hopefully tomorrow. Rick
  9. Hi Everyone, Here is my 1st completed build of 2015. Tamiya 1/12 scale Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa 99-07 model. This kit has been painted in Tamiya X-4 Blue, black, gold and silver plus a bit of flat aluminium. Anyway here are the photos. Thanks for looking. Rick
  10. Well after starting these motorbike kits in February I've finally finished the last one. I bought the kits from a seller at the Yeovilton show for £15 each, they were part started but the work carried out was outstanding and most were limited to assembly of the frames and engines sub-assemblies.
