HI, continuing with the Russian theme,and the big energia stack,heres another payload possibility,though not as big,but a big object,anyway,and though,it now lies at the bottom of the ocean?....supposedly,though the americans never owned up to looking at it?..and it came out later that the laser package was a hoax one fitted by the manufacturer?....any way this is a lovely crisp model of the polyus space missile platform,that never quite made it,the launch went well,it was supposed to seperate off the lifting vehicle,turn 360 degrees and toddle off to orbit...but unfortunatly,it only did 180,and so shot off back to crash into the ocean?...but hey ho,thats star wars for you.if you dont know what this vehicle is?heres a couple of pics.... and a cutaway of whats in side... now the excellent model,in resin....the launched version was painted black,this was supposed to be a stealth paint,though it was said it was painted this way so as not to interfere with the experiment package,?the launch version also had mir 2 stickered over it,just too throw everyone off? heres the box... instructions,two paint versions nice little stand for it,if you dont mount it in launch posistion,or display it in flight mode? launch version,shown top,in flight version below? the box of bits,very well moulded.. two lots of decals,? main bits shroud and satellite piece,you can see the resemblence to the mir section.... main polyus body stand bit of tape,round to show the length.... and shroud fitted shroud off and in flight mode with solar panels exposed.. thats the kit....the only other one i know off,is the start kit,which is smaller but comes with the launch boosters though,heres a pic its a nice kit,of a unusual subject,i,ll show the boosters next? cheers Don
