  1. My previous means of supply for these was Model Dockyard, who no longer seem to supply them. Internet searches seem to turn up this site, which I have used before https://www.trinityaries.com/product-category/plans-drawings When I now go to the site I get an access forbidden message. I've tried it from my MAc and an Android device with same results. Did I miss Jecobin plans becoming unobtainable now? Terry
  2. The late Mick Bell produced over 400 high quality drawings and plans of military vehicles, mostly trucks but also including some tanks, military buses, aircraft recovery equipment, tank transporters, in 1/76 scale for use by modellers and vehicle enthusiasts. Since his death in 2007 these have not been readily available. His son has now made these drawings available again as high-resolution digital copies which are free to download. Website URL - http://mickbellplans.com Each drawing has its own page, showing a low-resolution preview of the drawing, with a link to the full-size high-res image. The pages are categorised by country, and are also tagged with vehicle manufacturers and types. An index of the plans available can be found on this page http://mickbellplans.com/2019/06/15/index-of-all-drawings/ P
  3. TopDrawings 59 - Heinkel He.111 Vol.2 (9788365437365) Kagero Publishing via Casemate UK The Heinkel He.111 was one of the most common sights over BoB era WWII Britain, and it remains popular with modellers today. We have kits in all scales for example from Airfix in 1:72, through the new ICM kits in 1:48, and the older 1:32 kits from Revell. The TopDrawings series majors on scale plans, which is the main thrust, but also includes a little background information, some pertinent profiles, and often a bonus of decals or masks targeted at the subject matter in hand. With this edition, you get what is referred to as a poster, but is actually an atmospheric A4 print of a camouflaged He.111 releasing a V1 bomb during a night mission, painted by Arkadiusz Wróbel. The book is written in English on the left of the page, with Czech on the right, which translates to top and bottom for the captions to the various drawings within. The book itself is bound in a card cover and has 28 pages, with one at the rear are devoted to advertising the rest of the Kagero range, but in addition you get two sheets of loose A3 plans printed on both sides in 1:48 and 1:72 of the H series with the glazed nose replacing the stepped nose originally fitted to the early aircraft. The first half of the bound plans show the variants up to the H-18 and includes Hs.293, Bv.246 and V1 carrying airframes, plus torpedo and balloon-cutter versions. The four pages of profiles show five H airframes, plus an overhead plan on the third page (and another two on the rear cover), after which the plans begin again, taking it up to the H-22 with detail diagrams of various points of interest on the airframe, munitions carried and of course the awesome Zwilling. The final section of the plans shows the evolution of the aircraft through the H series, with differences marked out in grey and captions discussing the nature of the changes. The most unusual of these variants for me was the EDL 131 equipped remote turret that was fitted to some H-22s instead of the partially glazed top gun. I now have a hankering to convert one of my 111s to this mark. Conclusion These books are essential for the modeller that likes to compare their models against scale plans, and wants them to be as accurate as possible, with the print a nice bonus that could be mounted and displayed on a wall to annoy your family. We reviewed Volume 1 here in the summer, which covered the earlier models. Highly recommended. Review sample courtesy of
  4. Hello my friends, Greetings from Colombia. I am looking for a detailed three view plan with full details of the Lockheed U-2C Spyplane. My intentions are to design a highly detailed card scale model in 1/33 scale. After checking the web I have not been successful obtaining this information. Perhaps you guys can help me. It has to be the U-2 C model because this is the version that was shot down over Russia on May 1, 1960 causing the famous U-2 Incident and is the model I want to make to commemorate the 58th. anniversary of this very famous happening. Thank you and best wishes!! EDUARDO
  5. Don't know if it is curiosity right now or intent, but I'm wondering if anyone knows where to find plans for this great little lady? I have a hankering for 1/350, but the only ones I've seen available for the Langley are expensive resin models that would be fine but for the price. I can't plunk 400 bucks down on a model. Crazy stuff. But, if I had plans of the collier Jupiter as well as the Langley, perhaps it is something I might scratch build at some date. So, that's the question? Where could I get said plans, for the hull as well as the superstructure and flight deck? Thom.
  6. Does anyone have, or know of, any decent plans of the Handley Page HPR.1 Marathon? I don't know if any such plans were issued with past aircraft magazines but I would like to get hold of a scan or photocopy in order to have a try at scratchbuilding one. Also, does anyone here know of any commonality of parts, between this aircraft and others, such as wings, tail, undercarriage etc., anything which might help by utilizing parts from other models. I work to 1:144 scale. cheers Mike
  7. I wonder if any kind soul can help me please. In a recent modelling mag there was an article plus plans (1/144?) of the H P Victor. I kept looking at the mag, and put it back. Of course I have now decided that I should have bought the mag! So could anybody tell me which magazine the article/plans were in please? Thanks, John
  8. Hi People, I have just returned to scale modelling after too many years and have decided to build WWII British tanks and cannot find a 1/35 model of the A34 Comet. Nearest is the Bronco model that seems to be long out of production. Is there a 1/35 plastic model kit that I could use as a base and where would I find any scale drawings? Cheers
  9. At some point I'm going to build a biplane and I fancy doing a 1/72nd scale Yugoslav Hawker Fury. I've read several writeups of the A-Model product and I have to say I don't fancy it much, so I'm planning on converting the Revell/Matchbox kit. I'm aware of the (general) differences between the RAF etc Fury I and the Yugoslav Fury II (landing gear, radiator, oil cooler), but I really could do with a decent plan showing these. Can anyone suggest a source? Several lunchtimes Googling have come up with lots of photos (OK, lots of versions of the same photos ) and lots of art from kits/decal manufacturers, but no plans I can crib actual measurements/angles from. Several sources describe the Fury II's cantilever U/C as being "...like the Gloster Gladiator..." Based on (initial) inspection of the sources I have it's VERY like. Can anyone confirm/deny that you could use a set of Gladiator U/C for this build? Many thanks in advance, M
  10. Just wondering if anyone is able to suggest where I might get hold of some scale plans for a Varsity? For some reason I've got a hankering to scratchbuild one in 1/48. Daft I know, but can anyone humour me?

    Plans

I am always interested to read how people compare kits to plans and come up with the various differences. Where would one get 1/48 and 1/32 plans for Spits, Hurri's 109's,190's, Zeros etc
