  1. Hi guys, I'm off to Bovington tomorrow for the day, as my step father wants to have a look through the archives for family tree research, meaning I'm going to have most of the day, so if anyone has any requests for photos let me know and I'll see what I can do for you It won't be DSLR quality, but the camera on my OnePlus 6T is more than decent.
  2. Evening all, Here's a selection of images from a terrific show at Duxford on Saturday. Arguably a finer line up than Legends, it was a truly superb way to see out my airshow season. Conditions were tricky for photography with flat light throughout most of the day, with the sun only making an appearance after the flying had ceased, as is so often the way! As a result, the images aren't the most exciting in the world, but hopefully of interest nevertheless. 3. Morning all, Here's my selection of images from a fine show at Biggin on Sunday. It was mainly the Czech contingent that brought me back to Biggin for the first time since the last air fair in 2010, but overall I thought the show was excellent, with an decent blend of military and civilian acts. 4. Evening all, Thought I'd begin my coverage of RIAT with a selection of images from the two arrival days. Wednesday proved a frustrating affair with the switch to RWY 09, resulting in hazy approach shots, but the quality of trade up to that point more than made up for it. Thursday saw the usual West end frustrations, but again, it was a case of quality over quantity, though we were all incredibly grateful to ATC bringing the Flanker up our way after the initial communication difficulties! 5. Afternoon all, Here's a selection of images from a superb four and a half days at the Yeoviton Air Day attending from the Thursday through to the Monday lunchtime to catch the vast majority of the aircraft arriving, rehearsing, displaying and departing. Lots of good stuff on show, but as ever it was the Rafales that stole the show, just an incredible display Aero L-159 ALCA 6053 Czech Air Force RNAS Yeovilton 06/07/17 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Saab JAS-39C Gripen 39244 Czech Air Force RNAS Yeovilton 06/07/17 by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr McDo

  7. Afternoon all, Thought I'd share a selection of images from what was a superb few days in France. My first time abroad for one of these types of events, I had an absolute blast, spending Tuesday through to Thursday lunchtime in and around the base, and in mostly glorious weather too. As a huge fan of the Rafale, having 16 (I think?!) examples on show was pure fast jet heaven, especially when they look as good as the 11F and Lorraine specials, stunning schemes Overall though, great to see so many fast jets in an operational capacity rather than in an airshow environment that I'm more acc
  8. Evening all, Here's a selection of images from what has been a busy bank holiday weekend, attending Duxford on Saturday and Bruntingthorpe yesterday. Duxford was something of a mixed bag in terms of participation, but what was good was very good, none more so than the Rafale, which was just about the finest fast jet demo I've seen. The magnificent Sea Vixen was displayed beautifully as ever, absolutely gutting to hear the news break as the show ended. I adore the jet and sincerely hope she can fly once again. 10. Afternoon all, With 848 NAS standing down today, bringing an end to 37 years of service for the mighty Sea King HC4, I thought I'd share a few images by way of a personal tribute to one of my favourite aircraft of all time. Having lived relatively local to Yeovilton all my life, the Junglie has played a huge part in my interest in aviation, and I'll miss it greatly. All the shots posted have been taken at various locations across the South West, with the final four taken as the aircraft set off on the Monday's farewell tour, the last time I'll see this wonderful machine fly... 11. Morning all, I've managed to get my first couple of photography trips under my belt for this year having visited Salisbury Plain a couple of times in the last fortnight. Good weather coupled with some interesting catches and a first chance to give my new lens a run out made for an enjoyable couple of visits, although they weren't without their frsutrations, such is the way of SPTA. Firstly, from a couple of Thursdays ago, where I caught my first Lynx 9A and Apache up there, and the Bell in the sun doing USL training. 12. Evening all, Last Thursday, I made the trip up to Wiltshire for my first taste of helicopter hunting on Salisbury Plain. Despite the poor weather and relative lack of action, it was an interesting day learning the ins and outs of some of the regularly used training areas, and what we did catch is pretty rare on the plain, so all in all a day very well spent First catch up the day was a Bell 212 in the confines, one of only five the Army operate and the only one that isn't currently in Kenya. Sadly, it was winch training and so didn't lower itself as far into the confines as we'd have liked,
  13. Morning all, Spent a thoroughly enjoyable day at Cosby for the Victory Show yesterday. My first time at the event, and I was thoroughly impressed, with plenty to see, do and photograph both in the air and on the ground. After a long journey back to Devon last night, I've not had much time to edit any shots, but couldn't resist processing one of the absolute star of the show for me, and many others it seems. 14. Evening all, After Cosby, I thought I'd share some images from my final three events of the year last month to round off what's been a largely enjoyable season. Firstly, a handful from a day on the fence at Yeovilton to catch the Sea Vixen performing for her supporters, with added Swordfish as a bonus. 15. Hi All, I have some large studio lights that work perfectly well but they're relatively fragile old things and putting them together each time is getting tricky so I'd like to replace them with LED lamps. Does anyone out there have any sensibly (i.e. sub £200) priced recommendations for a pair of LED lamps? I've looked at a couple of photographic forums that I belong to but the suggestions there are all for semi-pro kit at a price tag I can't run to, especially when I mainly use them for models anyway. I know there are those little lighting booths out there for pennies but I find them a littl
  16. Morning all, Thought I'd share a few images from a bittersweet day at Dawlish last weekend. What started out as an excellent day, especially when the epic Typhoon tore up the bay, soon turned to one of great sadness as the news from Shoreham filtered through. 17. Evening all, I've been rather quiet on here for a while now, as my modelling takes a back seat to my pursuit of 1:1 scale aircraft. July is always a hectic month for me, with the headlining shows all taking place within a few weeks of each other, so I've had very little spare time that hasn't involved watching aeroplanes, taking thousands of photos and subsequently ploughing through editing them. In truth, I've barely scratched the surface of many of the shows, but though I'd share a handful from the best few weeks of the year, starting with a the WW1 commemoration show at Old Warden at the s
  18. Hello all, I'm not a car nut by any stretch, but I do appreciate vintage machinery of all sorts. This weekend, the technical museum here in Brno has opened the doors to their repository of vintage cars and trucks to the public. Along with the museum's own machinery, a few other preservation groups brought some treats along. Here's a sampling of what was on hand today: A Tatra 57 roadster from the late 1930s A 1951 Triumph Renown A Praga RND bus from 1949 Skoda 120 S Rally from 1971 A selection of fire trucks built from the Skoda 706 RT series FGL LF 16 Sachsenring; a 1960

  20. Afternoon all, Took a trip to Brize on Saturday for my first outing with the camera this year. Weekends can be a bit hit and miss, and whilst there wasn't as many movements as I'd hoped for, it was a decent day out nonetheless, especially once the sun had come out. Here's a selection from a Voyager-heavy day, a handful more can be found on my Flickr Photostream for those interested. 22. Hi gang.. Took this today, I got a new teleconverter for my Sigma 50-500mm, that now makes it 70-700mm (f/8)... It's the older non-OS version too, so it's a bit shakey at 700mm! I'll keep this thread updated when I can, or when I get a decent 'OTT' shot.. but for now... 23. I have thought of writing a brief note to clarify what types of photographic film in black and white were commonly used in the '30s and '40s, as there seems to be a lot of confusion about the subject: black and white films of the time were basically of three types , although the boundaries between these types were not always entirely clear-cut in practice: - Ordinary or common film ( color-blind ) was sensitive to light in the blue spectrum, violet and ultraviolet, and besides being cheaper, it only required yellow -green or red light in the darkroom. Using this film the red and yellow tones

Though, I'm not fully ready to post all the photos (have been too busy to get some edited) but I will get some up now, get Christmas over with and then some up later.
