  1. After years of staring at the model in my cabinet, I decided last week after seeing yet another P-3 kit started that it was time to crack on with the restoration of this: I built this back in 1981, I think. Considering it was all brush-painted and the walkways painted, it wasn't a bad job but the seams were terrible, it needed nose weight (which I'd left out) and the decals were all faded (no clear coats on my models in those days!). I want to rebuild it as a flying desktop model of the EW version of the AP-3C, two of which will continue in service with 10SQN, R

  4. Hello everyone, old model of LS representing one of the P-3M (M -> Modernized) that has the Spanish Air Force (Ejercito del Aire) and that deploys along with other armed forces in the Indian Ocean in the Operation Atalanta against piracy. Primed with Mr.Surfacer 1200 and painted with Mr. Color acrylics, details with Vallejo acrylics and some weathering with oils, enamels and watercolor pencils, some homemade decals, final varnish with Marabú satin lacquer. I hope you like it.
  5. This is a Hasegawa NP-3D (EATS) Orion. It is used as a missile range tracking aircraft and operated by the USN's VX-30 Bloodhounds. I have a couple of these in the stash and was not keen on the kit scheme so I decided to finish it in the current scheme. I used mainly the kit decals sheet supplemented by the Wolfhound graphic on the tail from an F/A-18 sheet (1/48 scale). I added the mostly correct antenna fit with a few scratch built blades and existing kit antenna. The kit includes a resin EATS radar panel and shortened 'stinger'. HF wire antennas
  6. Hello, Here's my (almost) finished 1/72 Revell rebox of the Hasegawa P-3 Orion. I used Colorado decals and did some backdating to build a low viz Portuguese P-3P from it. The kit is a bit old now, but it still looks the part, despite some lack of detail here and there. My experience with the decals was a bit mixed. They worked perfect, and are in register, but they are also printed very close to eachother, and the numbering is terrible. Some have numbers, some don't. And the instructions sheet isn't very clear on many of them either. In the end I skipped many of the smaller ones ar
  7. Norway have decided to replace it's aging 6 P-3 Orion's with 4 P-8 Poseidon. They have signed an intensional deal worth 11 billion NOK. About time they did this. The Orion is a workhorse, but age is showing. Cheers Ørjan
  8. Well I have decided to try and finish a couple of LS P-3C kits that have been lingering on the bench. They are at the mask and paint stage, I suppose that is why they stalled last time. Also some minor construction work to do. Pictures of their current state up shortly.
  9. HI, Thought you might like to see this, its NASA,S planned new ride, this is the Orion crew capsule and upper stage, build, with the larger 5 segment boosters. The vehicle is basically a stretched version of the shuttle tank, with 4 main engines. There is also a Block 0 one on paper, but its not certain that it will be built,as the Block 1 being the heavier version,is preferred.First flights are planned for Dec 2017?.. well heres the pics.. original plan to display the upper section as a seperate item,i have not decided which way to display them yet,? in launch configuration, 5 segment b

  13. New Decal Range In response to demand OLDMODELS DECALS is proud to announce an expansion of some of its high quality range into a new Digital Print format. Oldmodels Decals current inkjet range are known for their accuracy and attention to detail – this will continue with the new Digital range. What is Digital print? In essence it is a commercially printed decal utilising modern digital printing processes. This is the same process as used by a number of larger decal producers such as DRAW and TWOSIX DECALS. The end product is a continuous sheet decal printed on stock decal sheet which be
  14. Well the epic build is over - this took forever ( 6 months ), with a 3 month break while I had to source a replacement canopy. Built using the Kit decals (which weren't great being honest), Aires Cockpit which is nice and fits, Eduard External etch set which has some great bits and some pointless bits, Orion vinyl MDC cord which is great if very fiddly and finally HGW Fabric Remove Before Flight tags which are nice. It's a nice kit, but is very fiddly in parts and a bit of a pain to assemble. It's a nice size for a 1/32nd Jet though, not too big. Painted with Gunze Aqueous throughout, weathe

  16. These are the LS 1/144 kits. Almost finished this pair. Just need to add some Harpoons and the last of the antennas, and finish the gloss and satin coating and a light panel wash.
