Hi All after long time not making models, again got some free space to finish one. I planned to do this version of MIG for a long time, as it really differs with its crazy non standard colors. As i understand information from the web, this plane was shown in fresh colors to Kim Jong-un for one of his birthday, with interesting detail, text under cockpit in red squares. Model is old Italeri, with some upgrades: riveted surfaces (quite visible on mig-s, replaced nose cone, replaced models intake covers with new made from plastic, added details in cockpit. Colors AK acrylics...mixed to get closest as possible to real thing, decals Dream Model. Very light weathering as i can not imagine that somebody leave dirt on plane during visit . So it is finished, i do not like MIG in this colors, but i am happy with overall look of this old mold. Till next post, wish you all happy modeling time. Fury From The North The North Korean Air Force in the Korean War 1950-1953 ISBN : 9781912390335 Helion & Company via Casemate UK When you think of the Korean Air War American Sabres vs Russian MiG-15s immediately springs to mind. However the Air War over Korea was started by the KPAF when Yak-9s attacked Seoul Airport and Kimpo Air Base on the 25th June 1950. Even though virtually wiped out in the following weeks it was rebuilt and again went to war. This new publication from Helion & Company deals with the story of the formation of the KPAF following the Japanese surrender at the end of WII, with its re-equipping with Soviet aircraft through to its involvement in the Korean War. This is one of the first publications to concentrate on the role of the KPAF from its often problematic beginnings through to its role in the war of 1950 to 1953. The publication looks the aircraft deployed by the KPAF, and their camouflage and markings. The book is 96 pages illustrated with black & white photographs throughout. There are 8 pages of colour profiles, 6 pages of colpur photos of preserved aircraft, and 2 pages of colour maps. The MiG-29, considered as What-if theme, inspired by the Korea movie commonly known as Soar Into the Sun outside of Asia and R2B: Return to Base in Asia. Replicating the Korean People's Air Force's MiG-29 in the movie, dogfighting a ROKAF F-15k which I will link it in the comment section with 98% of completion. 1/72 Tamiya MiG-29, OOB. Hello everyone! Here are a couple shots of my recently finished Eduard 1/72 Mig 15bis from the Royal Class kit. Finished OOB except for the ariel wire, and glued to the base because silly me didn't put enough nose weight in. Finished with Tamiya spraycans. Please let me know what you think, I'm always open to new ideas!

This aircraft was reportedly seen in a derelict condition at Phenian (Pyongyang) airfield by Soviet ground crew around 1950. The story is certainly not beyond possibility as there were many Japanese aircraft left in Korea at wars end, with photographic evidence some being pressed into service with the North and South. I based the colour scheme on the North Korean Tachikawa Ki-54 that was captured probably at Pyongyang. The kit itself is showing it's age, although it's not that bad. I only had trouble with the fit of the windscreen which too some mucking about. The mix of raised and engraved surface detail is accurate and quite nice. Humbrol Matt 27 steel and Tamiya Khaki drab are the main colours, sealed with some future with an oil filter of white and yellow applied. I added to that with different coloured pastels, MiG pigment and a black chalk wash for the under surface. I yellowed out the canopy with a make up brush and Tamiya weathering pigments. Decals came from some MiG 15 decal sheets. The base is the case of an old clock, glued together and painted with a cheapie rattle can of black. The dirt is grout left over from bathroom repairs, spread around over the base then flooded with water from an eyedropper and left to harden. I added some MiniNature grass tufts and couple things from the spare box to fill a hole.
