  1. B-26B-20 Martin Marauder of the 450 B.Sqn, somewhere over France in 1944. This particular airplane 41-31765 ‘Fightin Cock’, was written off 12 august 1944 due to Flak damage. It crashed while it did a wheels up emergency landing, skidding into the airbase tower on it's home airfield killing the pilot and co-pilot, before coming to a halt. I’ve always loved the colourful and fancy looking Marauders, despite a rather fringy reputation in it’s early carreer days. I still think it’s one of the best looking ww2 US bomber. Everything is 3D modelled and rendered in Modo 902, with just a little post render work in Photoshop https://flic.kr/p/HhCn8z (the link to a larger copy) hope you like it ..
  2. Hello All, Minicraft 1/144 B-26 Marauder with print scale decals. Thought I'd have a go at the hairspray technique for the chipping of the paint. Seen some pics of these aircraft looking really weather beaten. Happy to answer questions if need be and thanks for looking. Welcome to 2016! Happy Modelling Ian
  3. Kit manufacturer: Hasegawa (Kit no. E26) Scale: 1/72 Type: B-26C Marauder Extras used: Eduard Photoetch Zoom Set Paints and colours used: Alclad, Gunze, Tamiya This particular Marauder - "Barracuda" belonged to 495th Bomb Squadron, 344 Bomb Group. Any comments appreciated Best regards Rune Haugen
  4. My Monogram B26 Marauder 1/48 ,not the best of kits but deff not the worst ,half way through i decided i wanted to try a water feature/crash dio, first attempt but reasonably happy with it .It needed something a we bit to add to it so i bought the Verlinden USN Pilots WWII in Dinghy,(changed the colour scheme to USAAF Crew) hope you like ,comments welcome.

    B26-A, Marauder

Been at this a while sorry so late and so far into the build, also decided to ruin a perfectly good kit !
  6. Sorry for the late start but I've been waiting to see if the Sun would "de-yellow" the decals before starting. Thankfully they are now nice and white and ready to go. This will be a (mostly) OOB build. The box & sprues shot... Nice to see engraved panel lines on this one, my Lancaster and B-25 have raised lines. Engine detail is... OK. There are no engines, but I have a cunning plan! I drilled, cut & filed out the fuselage windows. And made some bulkheads so I could add some Liquid Gravity. I popped some extra weight in the front of the nacelles just to be on the safe side. Some Mr Surfacer to seal it all in. There's nothing worse that a rattly aircraft A lick of black paint... And the fuselage and wings are glued and pegged.
  7. Martin B-26 Marauder. Built as 44-68219. Flown to France but saw no combat. Went to the French forces and then to Air France's technical school. Was given to Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace in Le Bourget, where is sat in storage for 25 years before undergoing a 5 year restoration. Was loaned to the Utah Beach D-D Memorial Museum in 2011 where she wears the markings of 131576 "Dinah Might" as flown by Major D Dewhursht 386th Bomb Group USAAF on D-Day. Pic thanks to Tony (Swordfishfairey)
