  1. My quarantine build is finally finished. The last step was also the longest - small details like antennas and rigging. But it's done and AEOLUS goes straight on the display. This build was really fun. I would like to thank to my friend Pavel for those decals and masks, again. I hope you'll li the result, . . . I do. I am thinking what my next projet will be... That's very satisfying feeling. And a few details: Cheers, Andrew S.
  2. Welcome to my first lockdown build, which I started aroud two weeks ago (when the Czech quarantine started). The Revell kit, which I bougth second hand, is a reboxed Matchbox and is really advanced like the many other Matchbox kits from it's time. I started to like this machine because of its curves and design. Although it's a German construction, which is very rare in my stash, I started this build with great enthusiasm and a vision of a fast build kit with only minor improvements and scratchbuilding. The cockpit came first and I decided to put the pilots into their
  3. Boeing 737-130 Lufthansa. Airfix kit modified. My first entry will be the 737-130 in its Lufthansa delivery scheme. My understanding is that although delivered like this, the tailfin was repainted in the then new scheme of overall blue, with the yellow Lufthansa 'roundel' before it was put into service. The fuselage will need shortening, and the engines will require a fair bit of rework. The very early 731's had engine pods developed from the 727 nacelles and were much shorter than the later ones. I'm still looking for some good drawings of them if anyone can help! I'll a
  4. Hi folks, well I,ve been tempted to the dark side! having seen and been highly impressed for a while now by the superb civil aircraft posted here and being a little jaded by the site of green and brown paint on my ongoing Hurricane builds I thought I would have a go at something a bit more colourful. So here goes.this is Revells Lufthansa liveried A320 which features nice engraved panel lines and a superb decal sheet a million miles from the last airliner I built way back in the seventies which I think was an Airfix Boeing 727.heres the box top,and I,ll make a start next day off,now where,s
  5. I flew on the real aircraft back in 1994 and the Lufthansa crew really looked after us. I always wanted to do this one and bought the Italeri 1/72 kit as it came with the right markings and didn't have the hole for the upper fuselage gunner's position to fill and sort out the corrugations for! The kit goes together nicely and my intention was to leave the rear door open so I tacked it in place with a bit of PVA whilst painting and then found I couldn't get it open again..... I didn't want to damage the corrugations so have left it closed. Had to change the propellers for three-bladed ones, t
  6. Hi Gentlemen, My question is simple if I want to make a Lufthansa 737-100, which kit is better starting point Revell or Airfix? If I'm correct Airfix is mostly series 200. Revell is modern 800-series. My understanding is that Airfix will require correct fuselage length to be right for 100. Is there any ideas about engines? What are changes if modification is done to Revell kit? Fuselage lenght and engines what else? Br. Vesa
  7. Hi, So I was asking questions about Boeing 737-100 in other topic(http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234933832-revell-or-airfix-737/). And now it's time to start WIP thread. Target is to do proper model of one of these: Basically there is two ways to do this. First is simpler and then only Airfix kit is needed basically then modification is shorten fuselage two windows front and behind wing. Then there is need to change rear cabin door to larger one. Basic understanding is that Airfix fuselage is not exactly right, but this way is possible get decent model. Second way is
  8. Hello Everyone This is my Airfix 727-200. It was built straight from the box. The decals are a mix of 737-800 and A320 decals, i didnt have any actual Lufthansa 727 decals...... As you can see it is in the present scheme. It was the only 727 to were this livery. The tail is alot darker as well. Im using my phone and it has a very bright flash... I hope you Like it. Thanks Bradley
