After many years, I had this funny twinge. Eyes twiching, involuntary spasms & visions of mud, loads of weathering & tank tracks. So it all came to a head when I sent the scouts out to hunt me down a Tamiya 1/35 Leopard 2A6 at the Peterborough show. While I was doing the usual normal stuff like looking for appropriate 1/72 things with wings on Stuart found me the cure for my secret craving. A nice Tamiya 1/35 Leopard 2A6 for £25.00! Thankfully the previous owner had stashed away some photo etch & a replacement aluminium barrell. Now I do like tanky things but to
After two months of work, I'm happy to present my Tamiya Leopard 2A6 I bought this kit on a total whim. When I opened it a few months ago, I was indifferent to it. Typical Tamiya - nice sharp plastic parts, but pretty basic looking details. I eventually shaved off all of the plastic tabs representing grab handles and replaced them with wire. I doodled around with a few other details not really worth mentioning. I then started to paint and really took a liking to the kit. This is my most recent project. The Hobby Boss Leopard 2A6M, depicted as a troop commander of Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) post Afghanistan. With a little Accurate Armour & Live Resin added, and an unknown commander from the spares box. The tanks came from the German army and featured better air con and more armoured stowage for the crew's kit. They were originally in the 3 colour NATO camouflage but are being repainted into standard Canadian green. The pictures don't show it to well but there is some tonal difference in the colours with some pre and post shading. The mode
Hello fellow modelers! After building only airplane kits, mostly ww2, I have decided to try something new and bought myself the Revell's Leopard 2, as it recieved good reviews. Especially regarding the fit, which is my weakest link in building. After the start I noticed that two front parts don't really fit, picture below. Does anyone have some experience with this kit and can tell me how to make this part fit, as the hole is quite visible: Further, should I fill the front joint and sand it, or let it be. This part comes together quite nicely, however I can't find any refference: Thank
