  2. Il-86 Detail Set (MD14439 for Zvezda) 1:144 Metallic Details The Ilyushin Il-86 is a wide-bodied airliner thathas the NATO codename Camber, which has four engines and can carry over 300 passengers. Zvezda have kitted it in 1:144 with the initial boxing coming out in 2006 with more than a couple of reboxings, and the occasional appearance in a Revell box into the bargain. The set arrives in a resealable foil bag with backing card that has the two Photo-Etch (PE) sheets taped to the front, and the resin parts stapled in place in a small ziplok bag. It

  8. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my latest model kit, 1/72 Tamiya's Ilyushin Il-2M. Built with the addition of Eduard photo etch. Painted with colors from the Gunze/Sangyo range. Represents a machine from 566th ShAP, Leningrad 1944. On Tamiya's decal sheet, the red/blue fuselage symbol seemed slightly oversized. As this marking variant is also supplied with Eduard's 1/72 Il-2, I used the smaller symbols. The model is missining it's aiming device on the nose; the small photo-etch part had disappeared when I arrived at my photgrapher's place ...

  10. Dear fellow Britmodellers, after more than two months abroads, I'm happy to report back from my workbench. Here's a piece of "Classic Plastic" I had started at the end of last year - the 1/72 Ilyushin Il-4 Long Range Bomber. The original moulds of this kit were produced in the mid-1980s by East German company VEB Plasticard. The same kit has been available in re-boxings by Revell, Master Modell and ADP. It's a kit of typical 1980s standard, with raised panel lines and some rather chunky details. I did replace the main defense guns with metal items from Mini World.
  11. looks like a beautiful kit, the level of detail is insane compared to the Eastern Express IL-96 kit I have just done. I think you can get more detailed resin engines for this kit but at the moment I don't know if it is worth it - the engines look satisfactory to me fuselage is a similar size to the IL96-400/ IL96T + IL96M. note the curved fuselage at the rear for the civil IL86 (above) a snippet of the colour scheme i intend to do. decals are not available but they are available for the 767 the fuselage is obviously larger on the IL-86 but I still think the 767 decals will be suitabl
  12. Hello everyone, I'm new to here and I'd like to start off by showing my Amodel 1/72 Il-38 May. A challenging kit but not without reward, I am a huge fan of this company as they make subjects not found anywhere else.
  13. Hi everyone! My name is Ernest and it’s my first post here. I’d like to show you my latest 1:72 model – Ilyushin IL-14 from White Eagle Museum (Skarzysko-Kamienna, Poland). This is a scratchbuild model, but fuselage was converted from Plasticart’s Mercure 1:100.
  14. 1/144 Ilyushin IL-96T Aeroflot Russian Airlines RA-96101 The IL-96T is freighter version of the IL-96-400 with Pratt and Whitney Engines rather than the Aviadvigatel. The kit is by Eastern Express and is based on the IL-96M. The aeroflot colours and Pratt and Whitney engines were short lived, the airframe now operates for Polet Flight. the new and the old (below)

  16. In no real order other than by aircraft type kinda... my 2015 with a little bit of 2016 thrown in, but will note by the 2016 photos! It's been a good year I must admit, and I've only been abroad once to Switzerland 'spotting' for the day.... All Russian/Soviet/Ukrainian/Eastern European types as these are my all time favourite.... Hope they are of interest! and two from tonight (07/01/16) taken at East Midlands...

  19. Figured I'd go ahead and start this thread even though the kit won't be arriving until Tuesday. I've noticed all of the resin aftermarket parts for the Il-28 are for the Italeri kit, but I had ordered the Trumpeter kit already and it was cheap enough that I'm not worried about super-detailing. The markings will be from a NOS ESCI 1/72 sheet of Sudan (pre-60s), Somalia, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, and Cuba "national insignias" (roundels and flag tail markings). Now on to the other issues - every Il-28 kit in existence, from what I've read, is problematic. I think I'll be able to build it

  21. The Soviets produced over 5,000 Il-4/DB-4 twin-engine bombers from 1937-1945, and they were used until the last days of the war against Japan. Despite the use of this bomber on nearly every sector in the SSR, there exists very few photos of this aircraft post-1945. Can any one provide information on color scheme utilized by the Ilyushin Il-4's used after the war for coastal reconnaissance, transport, communications, training and in its traditional role of torpedo bomber? I have read that the Russians did not begin to retire the Il-4 until 1947, and then only gradually over the next eight ye
