  1. Seeing we are revisiting quite a few GB's form the past I thought it was time (well you can thank @vppelt68 for reminding me ) to re-visit everyones favorite/favourite little Light Weight Fighter, the F-16! It has been a few years since the last one, 2017...I know because I hosted that one, so 2021 is about right to do it again. The F-16 is still a front-line assert in most air forces around the world....well those not silly enough to go the F-35 path...... trust my lot too! ......and i know there's masses of F-16's in stashes so there's no excuse to hel
  2. In celebration of the Royal Danish Air Force 70 years anniversary on the 1st of October, the Danes revealed a F-16 in the have glass colours of the future RDAF F-35. Here she is together with her mate in “Dannebrog” scheme, a great looking couple wouldn’t you agree! (all photos by Flyvevåbnets Fototjeneste/ Flyverkommandoen) Link to the original press release here: https://www2.forsvaret.dk/nyheder/nationale_opgaver/Pages/F-16FORKLÆDTSOMF-35.aspx English article here: h
  3. At some point I'd like to make a 527 AS F-16 as based at Bentwaters, all too briefly, in the late 80s. I believe they were block 30 F-16Cs; can anyone tell me if there is a suitable 1/48 kit to represent one? Would any F-16C kit do or are the different 'block' versions quite obviously different?
  4. As there are no group builds currently in progress that I am equipped to enter and fail to meet the deadline, as I’ve missed the Spitfire STGB and don’t have the correct mark of Spitfire for the Battle of Britain 80th (which I really should be entering), I’ve decided to do something, hopefully, a little different. Inspired by some great pictures here I thought I might finally get round to doing an F-16 I’ve had in the stash for ages. So using this kit: I‘m going to try and create something like this, taken by Kevin Wills and published on www.globalaviationresour
  5. Hello! Today I present to you my newest model of Lockheed F-16C Fighting Falcon in 1/72 scale. The model was created from the Polish MisterCraft set, which is a very weak set. I modified the model and after the modification it has a new pilot's seat, completed gaps in the main landing gear, a new engine nozzle as well as improved geometry and wing mounting. The model received the livery of the 445th Flight Test Squadron, Edwards AFB, California, February 2010.
  6. Hello, Here is my first post as an amateur modeller, this was my 8. finished project. I am aware of some major problems but I would like to hear your comments and advices. Turkish air force specific decals (some service markings and tail crest) are printed by me -first attempt so not the best quality-, other decals are oob. Since decal paper was transparent I had to paint the areas as white which will have decals on top (except tail vulture crest), worst part of printing own decals In the last photo you can see one of my previous projects - modified Revell F-16 Solotürk -
  7. Here is the Work In Progress report for 841220 F-16C Block25C - 57th Wing 64th Aggressor - Nellis AFB: For this build I will use Academy F-16C model in 1:48 scale. There is a great thread in this forum about Academy Viper: Some resin part updates will be used to improve this kit. Serkan
  8. Since couple of years I was busy with 3 view artworks of various F-16 Vipers. Now the time has come to bring them alive... In this thread I will summarise the Viper versions I am planning to build. The content will be extended depending on my performance for new artworks Here is the initial list of Vipers I am planning to build: 1. 841220 F-16C Block25C - 57th Wing 64th Aggressor - Nellis AFB: The "Work In Progress" report has started here... 2. 860269 F-16C Block32D - USAF Weapon School - 57th Wing 64th Aggressor Squadron - Nellis AFB:
  9. Hello everyone Whilst I am a couple of days adrift for the 6th June, I present my 1:72 F-16AM in the magnificent 75th Anniversary markings of FA-124 of 349 Squadron, Belgian Air Force. Kit was the Revell Stingers F-16, with of course Syhart decals which went down wonderfully. Paints were a mix of Italeri, AK Interactive for the exhaust (which was my best attempt yet) MiG and Vallejo. I scratch built the static dischargers from toothbrush bristles. I had the pleasure of going to the Belgian Airforce Day on 23rd June 2019 and saw this beast from about 2 metres away as it

  11. Hi All Here are some photos of my Tamiya 1/48 F-16 built up as an Aggressor aircraft based at Nellis AFB. The Tamiya F-16 is about as nice a kit as you can get in 1/48 (certainly better than the GWH F-15E I just finished), but I added some additional details, which if I'm honest probably weren't worth it: Aires F-16C/N Cockpit - although the detail is amazing, the fit of the resin cockpit in the kit was pretty poor. I had to thin down the kit parts so much to get it to fit, so I suspect it wasn't designed for the Tamiya kit despite being sold as such. Also since so little o
  12. Hello fellow modelers, let me introduce you myself. My name is Thanos, I am a mechanics student from Athens, Greece. One of my passions are airplanes. I spend the most of my day in home, due to the corona virus outbreak. So, I started scrolling in YouTube and I found lots of aircraft modeling videos. I didn’t waste any time and I bought my first kits, (2 Eduard Spitfires (1/72) and a Kinetic F 16 Block 52+ HAF (1/48), which are actually my favorite aircrafts), paints and an H&S Ultra 2 in 1 airbrush. I had almost no experience in scale modeling (only a Revell A320 and a Revell Leopard 2A6,
  13. Hi all here is my recently finished 1:48 Italeri F-16 (2786) I finished it in the markings of a Portuguese Air Force F-16AM markings are 20 Years of F-16 in Portuguese Service by Model Maker Decals Mr Hobby Color paints used H305,H306,H307 and H308 For main colours plus Tamiya paints for minor parts An enjoyable build despite some fit issues with the undercarriage Thank you for looking and enjoy Happy Modelling
  14. After a little research, can I assume I'd be correct in saying that Dutch F-16s are the following greys? FS36118 FS36270 FS36375 However, as it's 1/48 I'm intending, and I am terrible at handpainting, I want to use rattle cans for all of these. Does anyone know which BS number equivalents I'd need as I cannot find any spray paint companies listing FS numbers.
  15. This is my 1/48 Tamiya F-16C Block 52 Viper dressed up in the markings of the Republic of Singapore Air Force's Black Knights aerobatic demo team. Base kit used was Tamiya's F-16C/N Aggressor/Adversary kit as it has parts to build all F-16C blocks from 25 through 52. I modded the kit by using the metal pitot and AoA probes from Tamiya's F-16 detail-up set. I also scratch-built the smoke system pipe from the centreline station to the nozzle at the exhaust as well as the HMD sensor on the canopy. The seat was detailed using Fine Molds' plastic seatbelts for ACES II seats. Static dis
  16. Hi, Been a while since my last posting. Kind of lost my mojo after I threw the Tamiya Sea Harrier kit away because it just beat me !! .. will start saving for the Kinetic version. In the meantime , found this 1:48 F16 in Home bargains for about £5 but it was the "Thunderbird version " but with an Air National Gaurd option, so here it is. All OOB and the only change was to paint the canopy with a gold tint. Cheap kit and probably not accurate but it looks like a F-16. Main issue was the canopy fit, it was warped so had to use quite a bit of filler to make it fit. Painting the canop

  19. Hello everyone. I`m looking to model USAF and IAF F-16 in 1/144 and have had no luck in finding a decal sheet of USAF tail codes. The ones I am after in particular are WA and AZ. Does anyone know if there is a sheet of generic letters available that could be used. I have had a good look but am having no luck. I am also looking for a scorpion tail decal in 1/144. Does anyone know of a place where I might find it, I can find a sheet of other SQN`s but not this particular one. Many thanks. https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/6/70666_1541230267.jpg

  24. Hello! Here is an old build from 1995. It's my Dragon 1:144 General Dynamics (now Lockheed-Martin) F-16D Fighting Falcon. It represents 85-0572/SP, of the 480th TFS/52nd TFW, USAFE, USAF based at Spangdahlem AB, Germany in late 1980s/early 1990s. I recall making a series of small modifications to improve/correct this kit, with one major one: I replaced the awful intake part with one from an Academy/Minicraft kit. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome as always Miguel
