  1. I present my Revell Airbus A320 in the ‘EasyJet 250th Airbus’ special livery G-EZOL. She is currently occupying stand 110 having finished her sectors for the day and has been put to bed. I had previously built a Revell A319 in the new livery after coming back to the hobby, but wasn’t happy with the overall finish, in particular the lines on the sweep back Orange section. I have added some photos to show comparison, this time I opted to leave the wings off whilst I painted the orange section to try and achieve a cleaner finish. I also have a particular soft spot for EZY having spent 4 years there as Cabin Crew based at LGW. The build was OOB except for the BraZ Sharklets and after market decals from DrawDecal. I still personally think I prefer the Zvezda A320 kit to Revells, although quite intrigued to see the new ‘Neo’ versions they should be releasing soon. I am trying to get better at filling and sanding gaps now, as I never used to when I first started the hobby, and especially with the Revell kit there is often annoying little gaps in the joins, particularly around the Wing Box area. The paints were Halfords rattle can Appliance White, Revells Orange Aqua Colour and Revell Aqua Greys 371 and a lightened version of 374 for the coroguard sections. The slight weathering was achieved using a HB Pencil and dragging rearwards with my finger. Once again thank you for taking the time to look at my post and any feedback and comments are welcome . I should hopefully have my Etihad A320 ready soon, also have a A321 on my bench as well. Regards, Alistair
  2. Here is my finished EasyJet A319 in 1/144 scale built using the Revell Kit and displayed in the new scheme thanks to Decals from DrawDecal. I have an A320 to complete in this Livery and thing I’ll try harder to work on the ‘swish back’ lines on the fuselage. I have put it along side a BA A320, both aircraft I have operated when I was Cabin Crew.
  3. This is the 2012 edition of Hasegawa's 1/200 A320 which was released in the Japanese Peach Air carriers livery - I purchased Draw Decals 1/200 easyJet decals new release of the airline's 200th A320 delivery celebration colour scheme in an overall orange paint scheme. With all the outstanding Japanese engineering, the kit went together without any issue and the digital silk decals were a delight to work with, The kit is almost complete so this is pretty much a complete A-Z run through of a WIP for you here, needing only a final coat of gloss clear coating tonight. ********************************** Starting life as a Peach short haul carrier with Draw's 2018 celebratory decal set: The kit contents: Work started 2 weeks ago I have never worked in orange before and like yellow, it turns out to be a very unforgiving colour. After some testing, I used a lower toned undercoat orange under the intended top colour coats A bit blurry, The top coat is Tamiya's X6 Orange which turned out to be spot on for squeezy jet With the wings lower grey shade on, this is the corroguard masking process and the tail plane leading edge masking masking out the flap runners and then... Decal work starting A massive issue here. Draw's decal is 4 mm longer than the door recess (below). I had to trim this back and use one of the kits door decals to rectify this issue later on and now with the starboard side front door decal sorted and corrected Its a nifty little kit and I am pleased with Draw's decals. Thanks for dropping in for a look. I will put some photos of the completed model up on the RFI pages soon cheers - John
  4. Hi Guys, This isn't completely done yet, but i've been itching to share it. A320 Easyjet 250th Airbus livery, made from the 1/144 Revell kit. Proved a little less cooperative than the 3 x A319's i've built, but generally not bad! Decals from Draw decal, can't remember for the life of me the site I ordered the winglets from. Chris
  5. I have been a regular flyer on easyJet’s Bristol/Edinburgh flights over the last 4 years. This build uses the excellent Two-Six decals to convert the basic Revell A319 kit into one of the aircraft used on that route, named after Sir George White, the founder of the British and Colonial Aircraft Company, otherwise known as Bristol. Revell’s kit is nicely moulded and fits together well. My one criticism would be the shape of the CFM56 engine pods, which lack the very distinctive flattened lower edge. Fitting the cockpit windows was also surprisingly difficult due to a lack of fixing surface and I ended up having to fill them with Tippex. Like most 1:144 airliner kits, in comparison to larger scales it is a relatively simple build with few parts and limited detail. It has been released many times, with excellent decals for a number of airlines. Mine was a British Airways release, but although the kit decals are of excellent quality, I replaced them with after market easyJet ones, including, as seems to be the fashion in this scale, replacement decals to cover the kit’s windows. 6. Here at last is the third part of my 737NG conversion trilogy, lagging a long way behind the 736 and 739 which I finished last year. It is, of course, a cut down Revell kit fitted with the wonderful BraZ engines. As with the 736 and 739 I shortened the undercarriage legs to improve the sit. Paint is Halfords Appliance White and Racking Grey with Xtracolor X324 for the orange bits. Natural metal is done with various Tamiya and Revell metallics. Decals are a mixture - titles and registrations from Scaleliners, fin titles from a TwoSix A319/320 sheet (I dislike overall fin decals which is what Scaleliners provide), windows from Authentic Airliners and details from the kit sheet. All I have to do now is build a 737-800 straight from the box! Thanks for looking and as always constructive criticism is welcome. 7. Work in progress. Standard Revell kit with Draw Decal decals. Hope to fly one of these one day! See my BA A319 in the background.
  8. Although I usually have four or five builds on the go at any one time I tend to finish them in pairs. When I posted my Court Line Tristar in RFI I mentioned that it had been finished in parallel with an overall orange Easyjet A320. I would have posted both models at the same time but after I’d applied the decals on the A320 I noticed a problem which needed some attention and a bit of careful re-finishing. Fortunately that worked out OK and here is the result. The kit is Revell (actually an old model which I stripped and re-finished) and decals are by 26. Thanks for looking. Dave ... and the two together
  9. Revell's Airbus A319 built out of the box and using the twosix decals easyJet set. Thoroughly enjoyable build with superb decals, both those from twosix decals and those from Revell. G-EAZW selected as this aircraft brought Alison and I back from a wonderful week with one of our daughters in Sorento, Italy, flying from Naples to Liverpool. Here are a few pics.
