Doing research on the F101 C Recon Voodoo type and came across this on YouTube. Ancient bit of newsreel that has been kicked around the block a few times by the sound of it. Wailing Muzak throughout I'm afraid and a very typical voice-over narrative. But the Operation Sun Run was a speed and capability trial by the USAf, flying from L A to New York, and also the return flight to L A for 2 of the planes. A lot of refuelling was required and it was a great workout for the new KC135 tanker fleet with the F101s. It appears that the Voodoos carried individual colour schemes, one with yellow bands for example. But check out the plane in that "cover" image shown. The film has seen better days of course, and colour film and photography was "still in development " shall we say 😀 But that is full-blown magenta, don't you think?? So, could it be old film playing tricks, or could it be a reasonably accurate depiction of the paint job? I know Kitty Hawk supplies the yellow version with their 101C and it looks pretty good. But THIS one would look fantastic 😍 Is there any further reference for the Sun Run Voodoos and in particular, this one?

Hi, I recently posted on the WIP forum my attempt at the twin seat Typhoon from Revell and I promised to post some photos of Typhoons, which I have done. These are some general photos (I'm sure there are better out there) that I would like to share, which Illustrate some of the details of the aircraft.
