Revenue Cutter - DALLAS - topsail schooner / Surprise class. Commisioned in 1816, five years of service. Hello! Finally finished! I hope you'll enjoy it. Before the pictures I'd like to say couple things about this model and building it itself. That was my first attempt to build a proper wooden model ship. Now when it's finished I can say, that I've chosen good. This is a really easy model if you know what you're doing and what to do. I wasn't For me it was a really painful build. Every step I took was careful, but also it was another step in the deep dark. The kit itself was probably good apart from the plans and instructions. A lot, I mean A LOT of stuff wasn't even mentioned in the instructions and if I haven't found some pictures of the same model I'd probably never finish it. I can see this if the kit was released for experienced modellers, but it clearly says in the prolog to the instructions that it is a beginners kit so I'd really expect some more detailed explanation about what to do and how.. About the build. I made couple quite big mistakes, starting with the planking which went too deep into stern and the rudder is not through the deck, furnishing of the deck isn't perfect either. Topmasts should be the same size but due to material shortage (well, I found the missing bit later on ) I had to shorten every bit of masting and then decided to leave one smaller for some reason (I don't really know why). Overall it's a quite good looking model anyways. Just need to put it on a nice and proper base. The one at the moment is just an unused shelf Take a look: Thanks! Bart- 15 replies

Hello! It's been a while again. I've recently finished this great Trumpeter's model - BTR 60 PU with interior. When I saw this model kit, immediatly I had this thought of showing the interior via cut-offs in the upper hull. Finally I've picked this one to do and had a chance to do this project. In the meantime I've decided to put some lights inside powered by a battery placed in engine bay (the kit doesn't provide any details in this section. The kit itself was nicely moulded and detailed. The only problem I had, when it came to join together lower and upper hulls. Dry fitting was ok, but then when everything was finished, big gaps appeared in front.. Managed to fill them and finish the model. When it comes to interior colour, it's not 100% accurate for this exact vehicle. I've done some research and appeared, that there was pretty much everything from white, thru green and even blue. I've painted the instruments in classic russian cold war interior colour greelue (green+blue) Enjoy and don't be scared to comment! On some pictures looks like some wheels are not flat on the ground, that's due to my vinyl background, which is quite stiff and model isn't heavy enough to make it flat.. Hello again. After a while I've managed to complete this magnificent aircraft. The kit itself is a charm. Easy to build, nice fit and no problems whatsoever. Painting it was a bit of fun but nothing hard. Unfortunately I can't make a build without some problems. This time problems with silvering of decals. Weird, because on glossy surface it was absolutely fine, but after putting matt coat half of the decals were silvering:( I've read some forums, tip and advices and followed the one with needle and pucturing the silvered decals and another coat of Sol and Set. Helped a lot, but still I'm not happy to be honest. Some decals basically unfixable.. Build is OOB + Eduard masks. Anyway, pictures: I hope you like it. Thanks and see you soon!

Hello again! I'd like to show you my latest build - T-90A. As usual first of all, few words about the kit and the process. That was my first try for Meng kit and I'm absolutely in love. The details are amazing, instructions straight forward (few flaws maybe) and fit of the kit is nice. The only thing I didn't like is lack of paint schemes. Kit gives you choice of 5 different variant, but four of them are parade ones. I went for the only one that wasn't clean and easy - Russian Motorised Brigade from North Caucasus. I love the tracks. They seem to be complicated, but after few made they turned out to be an easy and rewarding job. There was a bit of a challenge to do the camouflage. I used white tack to mask. It was a real surprise when I put second colour, which according to the instructions - should be Vallejo Duck Egg Green. It turned out to be totally different from the printed one - quite pale green as you notice. I've managed to find a real photo in similiar colours, more yellowish, but I guess that it might be something wrong with the photograph, then I just thought to myself, that kit is branded my Gur Khan, so I guess he knows what the real colour should be and wouldn't be happy if Meng will put wrong paint reference in the kit. After this, there was the usual - glossy coat, wash, streaking, rusting and scratching, then matt coat and dust. For the tracks, I painted them Vallejo's Gun Metal and washed it with AK's Rust streaking. Then dust it with Mig pigments. Enjoy: Thanks for your attention:) Now working on something flying again. Hello, It's been a while. Have been busy doing some work around the house again, modeling two rooms with nice effect, but finally managed to finished this German Truck. This was my first go on an ICM kit. I was really surprised by the number of details but then while working on the chassis I started to wonder how on earth did they managed to mould such thin parts and.. why would you do that anyway, as you basically can't see anything when model is completed.. This is one of these models you may label "overengineered". One more problem was with fitting the larger parts with each other, like cabin to the chassis.. Decided to put it on a small base: Enjoy: Now some big beast on the workshop - T90! Yeah! Thanks, Bart

Hi everyone. Recently finished motorcycle, made on sort of comission. Sort of, as comissioned by my brother in law as he has this motorcycle and wanted it's minature on his shelf somewhere. Colour scheme is as on the real thing. Just some minor differences as he has slighlty newer version. Anyways, the kit was quite old. Moulds were average, especially the chromed ones. Aluminium paint is Alclad2, Semi Gloss Black is Revell Acrylics. I must say that working on the satin finish goes to the top 3 of my most hated paints..Every piece of dust is like a big flashing sign saying "You amateur, look what you've done!".. Overall I'm happy with the result. Now it goes on some shows and then on the shelf:) Thanks! Bart

Hello, Here's my newest kitty - Panther Ausf.D. Dragon - 1/35 - Premium Edition. Few words about the kit. It was a bit of a disappointment for me to be honest. Not the quality of the moulds, premium addons, but the fit itself. Traditionaly, Dragon's instructions were not good, missing parts, etc. Usually I really enjoyed Dragon kits, but this one was a bit different. Anyways, it was fun to paint it and weather. Decided to go for a non-muded vehicle, just some dust. I hope you like it. Now some motorbike on the workbench See you, Bart.

Hi everyone! I'd like to share with you my latest build. Few words before pictures. It's a great kit. Quite enjoyable, it's just a shame that Strykers are not painted in any nice camo. Hi everyone! Finally I did a photoshoot of my latest build - mother of all Zero's. Kit is - as you can guess - great and well detailed. Comes along nicely and quite easy. I've done some more work on cockpit as well, but in the end decided not to have it open.. I had some problems with the canopy. I didn't want to spend couple quids on masks and have been fighting with it for couple hours. At the end there were some mistakes unfortunately There are the pictures: Thanks. Bart.

Hello, Just have finished this and I'd like to share with you. First as usual, couple things about the kit. i was really really surprised when I first open the box. First glance on some pieces, mainly the fuselage and the cabin and only thing I could say was "wow!". The "wow" factor ended couple steps later. Don't get me wrong, most of the kitis really amazing. Great detail, a lot of rivets and nice panel lines, but when I get to the engine cowling I was shocked. I've looked on different websites to see if real Lynx has this section completely flat, as on this kit.. Well it still looked good. then I went to fitting the main canopy and beautiful 1mm gap appeared! I've managed to fill it with some putty, but I don't really like surprises like this. I don't mind some gaps, but this one was way too big. Other disappointment was engine intake cover which should be a mesh, but in the kit is made with clear plastic. I scratch build it with some old PE leftovers. The kit gives you couple options of the aircraft to build. I decided to build anti-piracy Danish version. I kind like it I must say. I've installed an internal light to lighten up the cabin a bit. It was just a try before my general and main project for this year and it worked fine. Hello. As a warm up before my target projects I wanted to finish started some time ago small Hawk. During the build I came up with an idea to do it as "What if?" Polish Jet Trainer. So I build it, painted and started to put on decals. And.. Well. I've lost polish markings from other model. Decided not to buy any additional decals, which is a shame actually. Anyways. As it suppose to be a training jet I wanted to give it a real shine like on the racing jets. Everything was ok until I decided to put final coat of Enamel Clear Laquer on. That ruined completely canopies I ended up having milky canopies and tears in my eyes (even is not the most ambitious build, still there was some work in). At this moment model was literally close to the bin, but I thought to myself that I'm not gonna give up! I took it off and started to sand the laquer down (not an easy task). Using higher grades every time and then I dipped it in Pledge and dried. I repeated this few times. It was working! So I took off front part of canopy and started the same. Unfortunately it cracked while sanding After couple not very nice words (polish of course) I came up with an idea of a flag on the nose and front canopy. I guess it looks quite all right Enjoy!
