  1. Well I have a few 1/200 Vulcans to build, or rather will have on the 25th. By a few I mean four plus the one I already have stashed for a total of 5, plus The four I’ve already built. It’s not a very big kit, a little bigger than a 1/72 Spitfire, and goes together well enough. I’ve already built 3 of the 5 schemes that are included across the two versions of the kit, including the only white scheme, 617 Sqn’s XL321. I want another white one.... or five white ones..... So I did the only logical thing and printed my own decals. Obviously we’re not meant to start before the GB starts, but no rules about aftermarket and what’s the difference between that and making my own. This is a test sheet I made, and I will probably be printing a new sheet tomorrow with better decals and other things I need on there which I have designed (or borrowed an image of for some, until I get around to making my own version) since. This will probably be a 617 Sqn aircraft or 9 Sqn aircraft, each with quite nice tail insignia. 617 Sqn: 9 Sqn:
  2. Good Afternoon all, Just wondering is this still going ahead? I am sure there was a thread/post up about the one last year several weeks before the event. Ive looked for a similar thread for the Christmas 2020 edition of the Blitzenbuild but have not seemed to have had any luck? I can see it is in the timetable for group builds, but other than that, see little in the way about it! After having an absolute blast with the last Xmas build, and enjoying the mid summer attempt (even if i couldn't complete my Novo SB-2 which still sits awaiting completion ) i do look forwards to trying a third! Cheers, Oliver.
  3. The decision has been made. There are some optional parts that came with the kit, so this should be a fun one to play with. Looking forward to this.
  4. My slightly late entrance to the party! My plans to start this first thing this morning utterly failed, so this will mostly be done tomorrow i think! Starting nice and late in the day with hopefully a bit more done in the early hours. Obligatory start time shot quite a bit of flash! will have to get rid of this before i give it all a quick prime in the sunshine! Current thinking is to do this in either a Czechoslovakian or Soviet livery, with 3 bladed props and wheels (i have sneaky plans for the 2 bladed props on another long stalled project) Will pretty much all be OOB although i may add some vague detailing into the non existant interior....time permitting! Bits all laid out on the table for a tidy up and then prime Any idea what this is? Cant see it numbered on the plans and it doesnt seem to correspond to anything on the plane........just a bit more free plastic in the box? Will add another update after some food and when more progress is made!
  5. For the last couple of days I have been having some fun in the Blitzbuild GB - so I just thought it would be nice to share it here. It's a 15 part kit and went together very quickly - a little naive - but a lot of fun... Armourfast - Jagdpanther 12th SS-Panzer Division - Hitlerjugend Constructive comments are always welcome and if you like it - you can “like it“ over there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thanks for looking - Steve
  6. Well last orders come at 11:59 on Sunday night, so that should give me enough time to get this little one in to the gallery.... Theres only six assembly stages.... And one camo scheme, any colour as long as its green!!!! The bag full of bits.... This should be like a Saturday afternoon in days of yore. After a trip to Woolies during the Saturday morning shop with Mum and Dad i'd scurry off with a freshly purchased series 1 Airfix kit. I have a free day today (barring lunch and a couple of dog walks) so lets see if i can build it in a day.... Thnanks for looking, Cheers Greg
  7. So while the gloss is drying on build No1, it's time to crack on with the main event. Another 2 x12 hr builds for this as want to give the paint the best chance to dry. Starting shots Time to crack out the Tamiya Pink Primer.
  8. Time to get underway! Kit box: Box contents: Instuctions: I'm going to be doing this OOB but probably not following the instructions. Comments and suggestions welcome. Good luck to anyone else taking part! Kind regards, Stix
  9. So first up in 1 24hr superhero go is Tamiya's 1/100 Lightning F6. To be fitted in around GP qualifying & finished before I start on the Truck 2mrw. Lets get crackingi
  10. Little H has decided she wants in on this BlitzBuild lark. A quick dig through the stash has uncovered the Meng Lancaster bomber. Perfect for a seven year olds fingers. Plus it's a push fit with stickers not decals. Starting shots Forgive the upside down pictures I'm still learning how to use Village.Photos.
